I struggle to see how fans can be harsh on their opinions of leads, He's been our best attacking player and best at right back when he gets more of the ball, he's up and down the flanks setting up goals with crosses..when has j Clarke done this?? Clarke to me isn't a shade on leads...he never looks comfortable on the ball/never gives it early and goes for the return/ 9 times out of ten gets it and turns slowly backwards giving their attackers chance to put pressure on and has been at fault for a few goals due to bad marking... I think we need cover on the left for brown and a midfielder as like it's been said on here before one more injury and we could be struggling.... Different sort of player,Leadbitter is a wing back,he is fast and capable of putting in good crosses but he is not a right back when its 4 at the back. Clarke is best as a right centre back when they play with wing backs,Rovers do not have a bog standard right full back which is what the OP says is wanted and I agree. You ask when Clarke has ever set up a goal with a cross, look at the 98th minute winner at Mansfield,Clarke puts in a first touch cross perfect for Taylor to head in. I agree that there should be a left back to cover for Brown, the squad is not very balanced.

Agree, except I think Clarke is decent as a straight right back. No we don't have a Trevor Challis style traditional RB but what we have is fine. LB is more of a problem if Browner is injured. I think Lockyer covered when he was.

Leads does get us excited when he bombs down the line but I can't remember him doing it that often really well or setting up that many goals by doing it. His run and cross at Oxford was sublime but it was the only time he beat the fullback on the outside. There's the potential there for a very good wingback, maybe even championship standard but he's a real rough diamond at the moment, his defending is suspect and his control of the ball is usually poor when he's running. I still don't think we need another right sided defender though , two is enough.

He is as entitled to his opinion as you are to yours Who said he can't have an opinion? Still doesn't make it anything but nonsense if DC is only intending signing one player I can't see he'll sign a RB. That just proves my point, disagree with the mighty TG and you are talking nonsense
