Reading between the lines and the few snippets from interviews DC has given over the last yr or so, I've been of the opinion that his goal was to get us out of this division. Major balls up first season (8 games?) saw us relegated and he knew he HAD to right that wrong . He did that with aplomb at the first attempt . Two successive promotions would see his stock rise immensely .
Would he of stayed if he'd achieved his ultimate aim ? Which I believe was to lead us to a division above where he started ,would he of felt he'd taken us as far as he could and moved on to bigger and better things ? Now that there's a new board with money , a new super "world class stadium " On the horizon the goal posts have moved. He can now realise all his dreams here can't he ?

Yes he can and I hope he's given the chance too.

Perhaps we need to ask DC that question?
Why start a thread headed "Manager on the move" when he's clearly going nowhere at present?

Yeah, if everything goes right, it feels like very good timing. Usually as Gasheads we look at stuff and wonder where it will go wrong, but recently we seem to be thinking about how things will go right. I even said Beardsley wouldn't score on Saturday, and didn't even get that 'oh, I've just jinxed it' feeling.

I'm with Topper.
DC hasn't said anything about leaving.
WAQ says he wants him to stay.
On the face of it we have the potential here that can match his ambition.
How is a manager on the move??

This is proving to be harder work than I thought. its maybe not the best headline ..... Oops apologies all round . Please forgive me. I'd thought my opening post explained things quite clearly... Obviously not. if DC does get us promoted this season under the old regime/limitations/crappy stadium I think ( just my humble opnion) that he would of been looking to move on.

Yeah, I agree. But as you pointed out there is (or hopefully) no reason for him to move on now! I was just sticking up for Topper who I felt copped a bit of stick for nothing!

Going nowhere going nowhere. He's here to stay, best manager we've had for some time, the only place he's going is upwards with us. UTG

He'll be gone by July.
If we don't go up this season Mansfield will have him.
If we do go up this season Bristol City will have him.

simple fact is the manager and any given player will leave if a bigger clubs comes in and for them, that goes for all clubs, if say sheffield united wanted dc as manager he would go i reckon. hope it dosnt happen though of course
