Seriously this comes over and over again with neutral fans who have moved to Bristol. I had a convo with a friend from London recently who said he only met 1 city fan who didn't have his head up his ass, and likened them to Newcastle fans when he lived there. I've had the same convos with friends who support cov, forest and spurs, none of them have a reason to prefer rovers over city, but have all shifted to us on living in Bristol. Looking at their forum they def have some sort of superiority complex.
This isn't to say their aren't any gasheads who aren't asholes.
Also I guess in the super reactionary mindset of most footie fans, not only do we go over the top on any result, but we probably do the same with opposing fans esp when in a same city scenario. But even with that in mind, their is generally a clear distinction between the mindsets of rover's and city fans.
I've posted a few things on a city forum recently and got ripped apart, pretty sensible stuff along the lines of maybe rover's shift in fortunes would be beneficial to city as maybe Lansdown had taken his eyes of the ball preseason. I didn't get one sensible response and felt like if it had been face to face and not in a forum I think I would have been punched. But ive seen city comments on here and sensible comments get sensible responses and banter.
Am I a paranoid gashead or is their a distinction?
