He has strong roots in Bristol, and I am glad that he is not vegetating in the development squad. Of course over time he will bed in very nicely

If we can remain in touch with - or god forbid in - the top 3 after these games, then I think we'll do it. By far and away our hardest games, I include a Northampton team who will be on the verge of promotion/the title in that.

It will be very hard for ALL sides whether they have seemingly easy sides or hard matches. The big secret over Easter is to win your first game and then see where you are.If we go to Carlisle having won on Friday then if we slip up Monday its not the end of the world. 4 points from these two games would IMO be a good return and might see us retain 3rd spot. Personally I would be looking for a minimum of one signing before Friday and ideally two. Problem is how are we going to keep so many players both happy & fit, assuming Mansell will be fit for Easter I can't see there's any rush to sign a player, unless there's a decent right winger prepared to join us but Bloom maybe able to fill that role now. Once Lockyer & co return we'll have about half a dozen players who can't even make the bench? Have we signed a loanee without me knowing then? It will be a bit confusing with Broom and now Bloom???

Yes Sean. Keep up. Bloom is our new Chinese sweeper.

Five wins from five and it's only a matter of time before we slip up!?
How about thinking that this team can dig deep for two games knowing that six points could see us clear in third place.
Don't bring any negative thoughts to the Mem on Friday!!!! And if you do, don't stand next to me!

Besides everybody knows the slip up will be at home to Crawley after we win manager of the month for March Haha

We're already on a 5 game winning run. Don't want our fans on a downer when we do drop our next points.

I think we will be fine. The midfield is stepping up to the plate atm. Carlisle away tricky but if we beat Cambridge history beckons. The way we are playing I fear no team in this league. We will drop points in the run in but so will others. Our home crowd is worth a goal when the mem bounces. The time to bounce is now upon us! UTG.

DC said post match Mansell pulled his calf in the warm up, that doesn't sound like an injury you'll recover from in a few days, hopefully he just meant he felt a "pull" in his calf! Otherwise we look now desperately short in the middle if SS & LL are still weeks away from fitness.

Easter Weekend looks very, very tough. Whilst we are in good form, it is only a matter of time until we slip up. Both Cambridge and Carlisle NEED to win to keep up with a chance of the top 7. Lockyer will be a massive miss, player of the season by a mile. Also, even though McBurnie and Ellis would have been unlikely to start, both are ideal to bring on as subs against tired defences. Who have we got to bring on instead? Easter/Fallon? A win on Friday and a draw at Carlisle wouldn't be the end of the world for me even if it means dropping out of the top 3. I just hope we will be ready if we do slip up as there is likely to be more twists and turns with 9 games still to go. Oxford Friday 25th Stevenage (H) Monday 28th Cambridge (A) PlymouthFriday 25th Morecambe (A) Monday 28th York (H) AccringtonFriday 25th Leyton Orient (H) Monday 28th Newport (A) PortsmouthFriday 25th Notts County (H) Monday 28th Wimbledon (A) I actually think that this is good for us in our position. If Cambridge and Carlisle still feel they have a chance of the play-offs then they will have to go for 3 pts - good ! we really look like we can score goals against teams playing open football ( Wimbledon & Newport).

the international losses are not perfect, and the injuries have started to hit, BUT I think we are on a roll, and DC has been deliberately looking forward to this issue.
Parkes was playing really well before being 'dropped' (formation change...), and McChrystal hadn't had any game time but has played the last two. Surely that was planned?
Ditto gaffney coming back and being given 60 mins.
Our bench will be a bit weak but vs Newport Fallon couldn't even get on it!
what would really hit us though would be something we've had in nearly every game recently; an early injury (LL), a late sickness (Bodin) or an injury in the warm-up (Manse). That would stretch us.

this did make me think what sort of team we COULD put out. I'm not making any points here (e.g. Jones is better Smith), just trying to see what could be possible.
both seem fine to me, although the bench is weak.
4-4-2 Mildy Clarke (J), McC, Parkes, Brown Bodin, Clarke (O), Lines, Monty Gaffers, Taylor
subs - Puddy, Fallon, Manse (?), easter, Leads, Broom, ?
5-3-2 (3-5-2) Mildy Leads, Clarke (J), McC, Parkes, Brown Clarke (O), Lines, Monty Gaffers, Taylor
subs - Puddy, Fallon, Manse (?), Bodin, easter, Broom, ?

The big problem now is CM as if either CL or OC get injuried etc then if Mansel is out injured there's no cover, plus OC can blow hot & cold from match to match. The usual back up is Locks but now it'll have to be Easter or Taylor, unless DC brings a loan player in or an Academy player can step up?? What happend to Dom Thomas?

I wouldn't be surprised if one of or even two of Mansell, Sinclair and Lawrence will be fit for Friday. No-one expected Gaffney back v Newport - DC is sneaky like that , keeping his cards very close to his chest.

The last thing we need is to give a youth player a start on such an important run of games. One thing's for sure is that DC will give nothing away about injuries so if he doesn't bring anyone in I think we can assume we will have 3 fit CMs for the weekend.

Given a youth player made his debut on saturday then clearly DC has a differing view!
