Well I was really happy at Newport (after the game) as I said in a previous post we had a lot of people stood in the gangway of the temporary stand, unlucky for me then sitting on the end of a row. Everyone stood next to me was fine, good eggs, etc, etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,except for ONE.
I would guess he was 22 'ish or thereabouts, every player that missed a tackle, pass, goal, put it out, gave the ball away or did anything else that was not "perfect" was, to him " a Dam useless prick. Taylor you useless Dam prick, and on through out the team. Yes our team, the team he was SUPPOSED to be supporting. I ignored him generally, but when he shouted out, Montano you useless black lady garden, I guess I was getting watered off. He was about 3 rows behind me and although I tried I couldn't get his attention, he was far too busy shouting out insults (yes after he had gone through our team he started on the stewards, cameraman, and others around him, then Newport supporters in the stand).
A lad next to me who was obviously one of his group said "it's embarrassing, he doesn't know many words". I think if I had been close to him at the Mem, and I had heard what he shouted out about Montanna, I would without doubt have reported it to the stewards.
Why cant these morons stay at home and play with the cat?

I feel your pain mate, Bristol is a big city and therefore Rovers has got it's fair share of tossers same as any club. Problem is if you had of said anything you would probably have got a boat load of abuse back.
At least we got the win, hope it didn't ruin your day.

Taylor you useless f**king prick, and on through out the team. Yes our team, the team he was SUPPOSED to be supporting. I ignored him generally, but when he shouted out, Montano you useless black lady garden, I guess I was getting watered off. Why cant these morons stay at home and play with the cat? Sounds charming. IT shouldn't ruin your day though. As someone who has done stupid things whilst dunk, perhaps he is feeling ashamed of himself (one would hope). You would prob be thrown out the Mem for that sort of business which I agree with. I only disagree when people get prosecuted legally for it. Unfortunately people have the right to their opinions (although racially tinted jibes at your own players is pushing it and I am surprised fello gasheads didn't sh** him up). The good thing about free speech is while some divvies can spout sh**, all of us can tell them exactly where they are going wrong.

I guess its just a reflection of what we see in the world day in day out the need for instantaneous success and gratification, followed by a total inability to understand that perfection is earned not a right! Certainly learnt that as a gashead of 50 year's! !

Don't understand why these d*cks travel. Easy to say don't let it ruin your day but there's nothing worse than being next to some drunk/off their face idiot who can't STFU all game and thinks everyone wants to hear them.

Without creating a mountain out of a mole hill because he was only one person, but I have noticed notice that our fan base is starting to get a bit rougher over the years. I'm an 80s child so would be interested to see what the oldies think.

Same kind of thing happened at Accrington. There was a lad, who was off his face, wearing a onesie shouting abuse left right and centre. It was even worse outside the ground when the same bloke was screaming into car windows in the post-match traffic. People like that are an embarrassment and give decent football supporters a bad name.

I stood to the left of our dug outs at the mem a few months ago and near the barrier with the away fans. There was a guy with red hair who wad unbelievably aggressive towards players and away fans, it was so uncomfortable I moved to the other end of the stand. I felt like saying something but I suspect he would have smacked me in the face. Not sure what the stewards were doing, maybe there scared!

That's the problem with seating, you're kind of stuck where you are. At least with terracing if you're stood within earshot of someone annoying you can move.
At the mem, where I stand there's a woman whose often close by and whenever the opposition has a chance in front of goal she literally screams at the top of her voice. Drives me up the wall!

I wonder how many goals she's prevented by putting off the opposition player?!

Trouble at games was the norm for generations in the past.

Maybe our fan base is getting softer and that's why the odd really vile lunatic stands out more ? And perhaps that goes for football fans in general ?

The bloke sat in front of us on the side, who called Matt Taylor a lazy lady garden for not chasing back was pretty quick to cheer him when he scored.
No place for racism in support of football these days, we have had our share of players from all over the world those knuckle dragging prats should remember that when they are performing in front of their mates.
Rant over, was a top performance on a difficult surface.

Proper one brain cell job I'm afraid and hard to tell if he's drunk or always like that. Unfortunately all clubs have got at least one.

Anybody else remember Telford where DC had to tell one of our won fans to stop abusing the players at half time? Perhaps the club need to eomploy a steward, or stewards, at away games who can deal with these type of "supporters", as I guess a quite word would make them come to thier senses but as i wouldn't fancy approaching them myself?

Good idea. Get the right security guy and I'm sure he would be happy to approach the idiot. If he got to know the then more action could be taken if thought necessary. But agree with those who said our fan base have got softer and good thing too. It does mean that the idiots stand out like a sore thumb though and I hope people see them as a one-off not the norm. UTG!

Mate, you have my sympathy; I came across the same lady during an away game, she drove me crazy, with her awful shrill every time there was any action in same post code (probably nerves, but really annoying all the same) UTG

UTG! never a good thing that our fanbase has got ''softer''. Your comments seem to suggest that people who aren't ''soft'' are idiots!? UTG

That FAN' was in his fifties, smartly dressed and totally off his trolley.People with kids moved away from him and at HT he confronted DC who had a conversation with him.Told him I was a vicar and would he desist from his profanities and threats but he continued unabated.
