If we put half a million quid on at 14-1 we'll be able to afford him and win the bet and get our money back. Effectively getting him for free.

Oh - thank you - surprisingly not been the success I thought he would be at WBA - shame really as his career has seen to hit the buffers at mo.

Think WBA was the wrong move for Ricky Lambert. Should never had left Southampton for Liverpool.

Think WBA was the wrong move for Ricky Lambert. Should never had left Southampton for Liverpool. The former is fairly obvious but seeing as he problaby at least doubled his wages I doubt if the latter was that bad a move for him? Although you do wonder if he'd stayed at the Saints whether he'd still be in the England squad. As far as "Hull who are looking like a side that could be playing Premier League football next season" at the moment they look odds on for the Play Offs not promotion, regardless, I can't see another Premiership club taking a chance on him next season.

The share of the transfer fee very likely kept the club afloat, seeing as we lost our league status and consequently the best part of half a million quid from the league.

I could see any of the clubs in the play-off spots in the Championship taking a chance on him upon promotion.

With the amount of balloon payments floating around, any on of half a dozen clubs could be interested.

I would have thought it more likely he end up at a Burnley/Birmingham/Wolves or somewhere like that

By the time he's so old that we could afford his wages he won't be good enough to earn them.
