Hi Guys,
Wanted to send praise to you guys for the come back yesterday, we threw away the 3 points. Couple of good changes from your gaffer. The two sets of fans shared some good banter. I don't see any reason why you won't join us in League One next season. The only sour notes really were the idiots who felt it necessary to pelt our keeper with bottles etc, from where I was sat it looked like our keeper actually took a knock to the jaw.. but thats irrelevant now.
Anyway good luck in the rest of the season, and on reflection a point was fair.
See you next season.

Embedded with the Northampton Fans?I wonder how many Gasheads watched the game with the home fans yesterday. I turned up in a maroon hoody (my disguise). I noticed another Gashead wearing a Broad Plain RFC top. I ordered my ticket from Northampton some 10 days ago but they did not send it through. I therefore had to collect it from their version of Santa's Grotto using my best "Teyn" accent! Not only was my name printed on the ticket but also my address which I had to confirm. Anyone from the Bristol area with a good accent would have been weeded out straight away. I had ordered one of the last 4 tickets in the West Stand and was therefore very surprised to see 20 vacant seats in my vicinity. I had a great view of Billy Bodin's cross that hit the bar - it was almost an incredible start. In the distance the Gasheads were in fine form - made me proud. The two goals went in for Northampton but what a Gas finale. People around me seemed in awe every time Montana went forward with the ball - almost disbelief as he rounded Teyn defenders time and again. The goals followed and the Gasheads reaction when viewed from the other end of the ground was inspiring. Other factors of note: * Good (but expensive) catering in the very long first floor foyer at the back of the West Stand * Professional email promotions (two received already) once they got hold of my email address (see below) Attachment Deleted* The tie-up of NTFC with the University of Northampton (suggest we will be doing the same with UWE before long).

Why does any league ground allow bottles to be brought into the ground, as you can't get one into the Mem? PS When are you going to pay back the £10m you "borrowed" from the local council?

That's because they all got launched at the stoke keeper!

Why does any league ground allow bottles to be brought into the ground, as you can't get one into the Mem? Quite a few grounds sell bottles in the ground, not sure their is a law against it. Was sat next to two gas at Carlisle surreptitiously drinking cider from bottles bought from the bar under the stand. Weird as they were emptying beer cans in to glasses but cider was just served in the bottle! Think I bought a bottle of pop at Pompey too

I don't condone the throwing of plastic bottles onto the pitch, at the time I didn't think the keeper was hit by one - a fact confirmed by the Goal Cam footage on Youtube. He holds his jaw after he held onto the ball and Ellis wrestles it off him. Northampton player booked for diving earlier on so I suspect this was just another piece of play-acting.

They were a pretty nasty team to be honest. Certainly into the darker arts of football. Unfortunately apart from the booking for diving the homer ref let it all go.

Nailed on champions, 2 nil up - why resort to this at home? Wily old Wilder! Trying to shut up shop at 2-1. He'll go far in L1.

Think I bought a bottle of pop at Pompey too I maybe wrong but I think we were banned by the FA from allowing bottles in the ground after a similar incident at the Mem, it's odd we seem to be the only fans who like to throw bottles at opposition goalies! Although surely allowing alcohol into the stand is banned at every ground, Mike Ashley can confirm that!

Plenty of bottles came raining down on us at Ashton Gate - and they weren't empty either.

Must have been the smallest bottle and the best throw in history to have hit their keeper through a goal net.

Another email from Northampton Town FC (fourth so far over a 12 day period but does not feel like Spam) - I think that Rovers admin could learn a lot from NTFC re professional approach to ticket selling. Sorry to be negative but our ticketing arrangements still feels part of the old regime. Attachment Deleted

I'd rather leave work early to get them than risk the website but for many that isn't an option.

I thought fans who said they'd bought season tickets had said they'd arrived the following day, if so, that's surely some improvement?
I guess Northampton have completely finished their ground improvements, ticket system, whereas we're still stuck at the Mem.

Very impressed with season ticket this year. Have previously waited weeks. This one was literally less than 24 hours!

Fair play to NTFC worthy of promotion and the title BUT I was very surprised at the Crowd on Saturday being their all time record? under 8K !? Did I hear that correctly?

Another Cobbler in peace here....
Great game on Saturday and fair play to Rovers for getting something from a game which we thought was all but over. On the basis of the substitutions on Saturday Wilder will come across as negative (something which Oxford fans always bring up) but I think the subs were a reflection of how dangerous Rovers can be and us wanting to secure the 3 points. It's been rare for us this season to take that negative approach and it backfired in this instance.
I wanted to add my thoughts on the Smith (our goalie) situation. He's clearly a bit of a prat at times and likes to wind up away fans but I do think Harrison was lucky to get away without some kind of caution. From where I was sat he raised his hand and shortly after the goal the ref made Smith change his shirt as he had blood on it. Something most people seem to have overlooked.
I didn't see anything wrong with a handful of over enthusiastic fans wondering on to the pitch after the equaliser. We did the same at Stevenage last month so can't criticise.
Anyway, it's done now. We're up after a cracking season and looking forward to clinching the title at some point. Rovers are the form team and I think it's between you and Accrington for 3rd. From what I've seen of both sides Rovers are the stronger side but it's always difficult to base opinions on watching a side for 90-180 mins per season.
Good luck
