Just seen this announced on bbc.co.uk - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/35718685Fair play to him... Great season. I got him wrong when I said he won't be good enough for L2, but he has improved vastly even from the end of last season. Fair play kid. Personally I think Roofe will win it, but cant ask for any more from Matteeeee!

What about Tom Lockyer - he must be in the frame surely.

Agree totally - Matty has performed way above expectations (as have most of our team). But yes, Roofe to win it. Maybe DC will get Manager of the Season but I suppose that's already got Wilder's name on it.

Lockyer has been superb but Taylor is our player of the season in my opinion.
26 goals and I believe only 1 of those was a penalty. Plus we've got at least 5 games left, maybe 8. I certainly wouldn't bet against him reaching 30 and if he keeps up his recent run it could be more.
Who was the last Rovers striker to score 26+? How many of those were pens? I'm guessing you have to go back quite a few years.
Strikers that score that many goals don't come around too often. Just hope he's still with us next season because he'll be nearly impossible to replace.

It's amazing we are even debating this considering how many goals Taylor has scored and that's great testament to how well the team and Lockyer in particular have done this season. Lockyer is my player of the year. I think Taylor would be harder to replace but Lockyer has been consistently good more often. I genuinely can't remember him having a bad game this season. And whilst Taylor has scored plenty, he has had quite a few below average games.

Not Tom Lockyer, no. Its a 3 horse race between Matty T, Roofe and Holmes. Personally i'd have Taylor 2nd. Roofe is a class above, and will probably be on his way to the Championship, for a hefty sum. No doubt the Duke of Guernsey's lot will throw silly money at him...

I think Matt Tubbs still has a couple of good years left in him. Not a popular opinion, I know, but if we struggle to replace Matty T then Tubbs could fill the gap.
In fact since DC played alongside Tubbs at Salisbury City, I'm astounded he hasn't already tried to sign him.

He hasn't really set the world alight at Eastleigh. I have a feeling our owners will have their sights set a fair bit higher this summer.

I don't, but I would have thought a decent offer would get him rather than wasting away at Eastleigh. He's not a proper replacement for Taylor but I was thinking of him in case we can't get anyone else without silly money being asked.

Don't see how it can be Roofe?
Taylor: 45 games-26 goals. League only: 25 league goals - 2945 mins (118 mins per goal) 5 assists Roofe: 46 games-25 goals. League only: 17 league goals - 3117 mins (183 mins per goal) 8 assists
Easy choice, surely?

He is guaranteed games at Eastleigh though and probably be on more money too and better location for him.
