The Rovers finally have people in charge of the club who appear to know who to run the club correctly. The original agreement with UWE clearly was one way traffic in their favour and the Rovers team are doing what's best for Rovers and altering the agreement more so in our favour. Also wanting to buy the land outright is only a good thing; spending £40 million on a build and you don't own the land and the revenue streams are not all yours is not good business sense. Forget previous new ground attempts which fell by the wayside, these people are not Dunford and Higgs. it the whole buying the land thing actually fact then because I'm sure that has come off hear say from on here. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Once this season is out of the way...whatever the outcome...focus is bound to move to the stadium. We will need more than airplane undercarrage analogies, rather a proper status update with likely timescales. A summer of silence or sound bites without substance and people will rapidly lose patience and then faith. I've been waiting 50+years so a few more weeks are not going to stop me "lose patience" Things are going on in the background which will become very clear soon

Although as Swansea don't own their ground I doubt it make a major difference anyway.

If they will cause further delays, will they be worth the wait?

There is no comparison with Swansea as The Liberty Stadium was a joint venture; local council who owned the land and the Stadium funded by developing surrounding land into a Retail Park. No outlay from the football club or Rugby club whereas Rovers will be funding the build of the UWE. Swanseas comparison would be Coventry City or West Ham...what a blinder they played with that deal!!

Council owned once again but the chairman owns the SMC! Utter chaos if he is ever ousted I would have thought.

Didn't the council randomly own the local telephone company (Kingston communications) and they flogged it off and gave the money to hull city to build their new ground? I thought they even did a survey of ratepayers offering to reduce rates or build the stadium and unbelievably they said build a new stadium! Oh to be in a one team city...
Rovers played hull in the second ever game there (I was there). Got cuffed 2-0 I think. Bloody depressing place, cheap as chips mind you!

Yeah, can you imagine how that would have gone in Bristol? We should probably collude with the sh1t, to get some sort of council rivalry going between BCC and South Gloucs over which council can help their team the most.

It's obvious to us that all something's going on in the background whether that eventually leads to an announcement of a start date is really no clearer than it's ever been.

When a start date is agreed upon then it will be announced. If people can't/won't get their heads around that then they have a problem. This isn't a £1'million pound block of flats development or eight low cost houses being built on a little green playing park in North/South Bristol. It's £40 million plus and the whole future of Rovers.

To make you happy Topper, we will have a stadium in use in about 3 years, can you wait that long Is that good enough for you ?

I'm confident we'll be using a stadium in 3 years but will it be a new one? I think a start date will at least need to be announced over the summer for this to be a realistic prospect.

It takes around 1.5 years to build your average stadium so plenty of time for announcements if we are to be in a new Stadium by 2019/20!

To be honest I don't take a blind bit of notice what you post about the stadium. Once the club makes an announcement I'll be happy but if they don't then I'll just carry on enjoying the football at the Mem. Although it seems something's got to give this summer if we have to start the car park build by October.
