Though we can only effect our own results, Hartlepool have the power to have a big say on the race for those two automatic promotion spots. They play Oxford tomorrow, Pompey, and then finish away to Plymouth on the final day. They were pretty dire earlier in the season, but have improved a lot since, well, since playing us actually. They beat Barnet, Wimbledon, Orient, Mansfield, Morecambe, York, and Dagenham since then. Their form in the last 6 is WLWLWL If they keep that form going, they'd come away with wins against Oxford and Plymouth - so here's bloody hoping they can! Their manager, thankfully, seems keen on spoiling some parties: “We’ve got a real consistency about us now; we all know what we’re doing and what our jobs are and I fancy us against anyone in this league if we set out our stall and play the way we can.
“What I don’t want is for the season to peter out; I want us to have a say, I want us to and spoil parties and that will be the message to the players.”Read more at www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/news/article/craig-hignett-wants-hartlepool-to-be-party-poopers-of-league-two-3074443.aspx#XGmSx1oShwOlLrmv.99Come on the 'pool!

I think they're a bit on holiday.
They were doing brilliantly, then the manager decided to rotate his squad. Not a good idea!!
Wycombe are in the same boat too, which is frustrating given they were in the hunt for a play-off spot.

Wycombe aren't quite out of it yet. 4 points off Wimbledon , and though the Wombles have a game in hand their game in hand is Pompey so by no means a win. So they could be well in the hunt in their last 2 games - Oxford and Accrington! Just need Wimbledon to lose their next games really...

Don't think we can rely on others its in our hands. Win all three and we might just squeak into third otherwise playoffs lottery.

Even with 3 wins from 3, we are going to need someone to do us a favour!

Someone will do us a favour. There is no way Accy, Oxford and Plymouth will all win their three games. At least two of them will drop points. I am convinced of this because it always happens, and it's up to us to make the most of that. We've drawn two of the last three so that's our dropped points taken care of.

What I meant was all we can do is try and win our remaining games and hope it is enough. Hartlepool hardly helped us Tuesday home to Accy.

What I meant was all we can do is try and win our remaining games and hope it is enough. Hartlepool hardly helped us Tuesday home to Accy. Accy drawing their last two home games against hardly world beating opposition (Cambridge and Morecambe) suggests there may be more unexpected dropping of points to come. Oxford especially are ropey at home too, and away to Carlisle next week is not an easy game. We certainly have to win all three though, fail to do that tomorrow and I think its play-offs. Thinking positively, I see no reason why we can't win all three, and 3 points on Saturday could help us get into a really promising position ahead of a huge weekend where we go to York.
