Happy st Georges Day everyone. A day we will soon all be told must be hidden in the mists of time. I'm surprised that didn't happen long ago when the left wing fruit loops were in power. It may well happen under the latest right wing clown who is running the country, especially if the latest deranged leader of the deluded USA tells him to. Be proud, stand tall and don't let those with the 'undertones' spoil your day UTG.

Thought we only celebrated ST Patrick's day in England? Wrong isn't it? Not allowed to celebrate our own patron saint's day by all the do gooders in this country.

Thought we only celebrated ST Patrick's day in England? Wrong isn't it? Not allowed to celebrate our own patron saint's day by all the do gooders in this country. I think you've been reading the Daily Mail too often. There are, and have been, plenty of St George's Day celebrations around the UK, including this year London, Manchester, Liverpool,, Birmingham and Blackpool along with countless others in small towns and villages. No-one is prevented from a celebration of the day, so long as the celebrations are organised, legal and decent. A town near me has a very big St George's Day festival every year, enjoyed by all, apart from a few years ago when some knuckle-dragging EDL numpties decided to march through the town on the day and chant racist slogans for the benefit of no-one, scaring everyone there, especially the small but law-abiding immigrant community. The council contemplated banning the festival if it continued, but police and community working together nipped it in the bud and today it went ahead as usual and everyone was happy. Had it actually been banned, the happiest people of all would have been the EDL who supposedly were protecting it. Scum.

That's a really stupid post if I may say so. Who has stopped St George's day celebrations! . .? Qualify your statement You are allowed to celebrate st George's day all you like go ahead and arrange the biggest bash you can and see who turns up.....good luck with the apathy... unfortunately the Celtic nations have a firm stranglehold on national pride hence bitter English rhetoric, a bit like yours .... best English can do is whack a pic of st George up on Facebook as a panacea to national pride Happy St Georges Day . Not likely is it ? and yes I am English , Just not jingoistic
