What pub we taking over then? Think I went in one called Burton Stone or something like that before Burton Stone is the closest and usually the busiest, the Old Grey Mare further up the A19 (away from the city centre) and The Minster Inn (on Marygate) are all within easy walking distance. There is also a bar at the ground which allows away supporters in (or did last time).

5 of us from Hanham, will be leaving 9.30am tomorrow. 2 nights B&B in York at the Waggon & Horses pub. Can't wait, not going to get a lot done at work today, except check social media and the forums every 5 minutes.

Already arrived in York. Checked in to hotel and off now to search out some watering holes.
Weather cold, grey and damp!
Allow a bit extra time if possible as the roadworks between Strensham Services and M42 keep speeds down below 50mph. Otherwise not too bad a run.

Just realized it is the tour de yorkshire this weekend as well so anyone travelling up on Saturday morning you may well get caught up in more disruptions as you get closer to York. letour.yorkshire.com/route-maps

Had a good steak and decent ale in the Whippet Inn (not a joke really) followed by music and more drink in the Corner Pin. Doing a proper recce tomorrow

Nearest decent pub to ground would be good to know? A mate told me the wonky donkey was good, but a bit of a walk
