His name is Rod, a very quiet old gent who lives in Backwell. He was just behind me and fell onto me and onto the terrace. I managed to sit him up on the terrace and he was very drowsy. He told me he was diabetic and I passed this onto the medics. Special mention to the Gashead who was a male nurse, who took charge until help arrived. Hope he recovers and look forward to seeing him at the first game in Division one. UTG!

Best wishes to Rod, hope he's OK. Must admit it didn't look good when he was on the floor but pleased to see him sitting up and looking a little better on the stretcher chair.
A regular Gashead at all the home games and quite a few away matches. Get well soon.

Hi all my names Tom and I'm rods son ..thanks all for your concerns... Dad had a reaction to do with his diabetes I belive (only managed to talk to my sister so far)...he was taken to southmead and is now feeling much better... An odd few days for the family as I myself didn't make today's game at all .. I went to drs on Friday with a bit of man flu only to be rushed into the bri with a blood clot on my lung ... So we both missed today's celebrations but both smiling tonight I'm sure... (I know I am ) A great day , a great time to be a gashead ... A great time to be alive. #UTG

Just another quick update , rod remains in Southmead hospital whilst more test are carried out , he's fine though ... And he told me he knew rovers had scored as he heard the roar of the crowd from inside the ambulance as they headed to southmead. We now have a bet on to see who can get discharged and have a celebration pint 1st ... He looks an odds on winner right now but in true gas style I'm not giving up yet . I told him about this thread and his asked me to thank u all ... Oh and he lives in Nailsea not backwell ... He wasn't happy about people thinking he was from Backwell ... Most people know him by his nickname which is Tick as he's originally from Somerset village.. tickenham
