Now as many of you know from the old official forum I could be quite (probably an understatement!) negative so now it's fair to give credit where it's due.
What a man Darrell Clarke is and we have our club back.
Darrell has completely changed the mentality of the club, fans and players since taking over the managers job. He took over in a terrible situation but as much as it didn't feel like it at the time, relegation was the best thing that could have happened to the club.
His recruitment has been fantastic, signing natural winners and leaders in in the mould of Monkhouse, Easter and Mansell but at the same time signing the little bit of flair needed in Gosling, Bodin and Montano etc. Over his two seasons he has made decisions that I and many others have questioned, criticised and debated but at the end of it all two promotions speak for themselves. I have no doubt he will continue to make decisions that are baffling but he's got the results and promotions to show he knows what he's doing!
His management of the players have also been first class, who'd have thought that Harrison would still be here and having a big impact after how the relegation season ended for him or Mildenhall would be back in the team and playing as good as ever recently. It's clear that the players respect him and want to play for him the togetherness and mutual respect is something we haven't seen since the promotion under Trollope.
Most of all he knows what it takes to manage the club, a lot of managers have tried and failed. We've had managers recently that have buckled (poor I know) under the pressure of managing the club but I think the thing that stands out for me is that most fans can relate to him. DC is a normal bloke doing a fantastic job at our club.
Has he made mistakes? Of course he has, he isn't perfect and he's still learning but we have a great young manager on our hands and I for one hope that we can continue improving before another club comes along.
One things for sure, he won't ever have to buy a beer again in Bristol!

Well said. Well done DC phenomenal turnaround. Glad you feel like you've earned your redemption even though I think most of us felt you'd earned it last season. I wonder who the fool who posted those flyers around the training ground was. Couldn't believe how cruel that was when I heard about it. Hope they feel like a right bell end now.

Yes very well said. What he has instilled into our club is passion, a unity from the fans, players, coaching staff and now the new owner's, he is infectious with pride, a pride that many of us never thought would exist after our dark times and sh#t manager appointments. DC is a legend and always will be in the blue half of Bristol. Could he be our Alex Ferguson? Could we keep him that long, only time will tell. UTG

I'll say it now, best manager I've seen in 45 years.
There, done it.
Back to back promotions.
Quoted Martin Tyler a few times in the last day or so, "I swear that you'll never see anything like this ever happen again".
There might (hopefully) be future promotions, but the achievement of the last 2 seasons may never be beaten.
Not bothered about no bus top tour, I wish Darrell and the lads a happy and restful break. Damn they've earned it!

We're in a fantastic position to really grow the club now. Excellent, ambitious manager already in place. So looking forward to stadium/training ground/academy developments over the summer and of course next season.
To think where we were a couple of years ago to where we are now really is unbelievable.
Well done to DC and all at the club.

The football he wants to play is the football I want to see The character he demands of his players is the character we've always wanted to see in the B&WQ, they never, ever, give up. His ability to pick a player that will fit in with the team ethos and abide by the team code of conduct is amazing...he's got players like Manse and Sincs picking up community and unsung hero awards, players on the fringes of the squad like McB, Gos and recently J Clarkey all feeling as included as central characters Browner, Locks and Matteeeee T. They all "get" Bristol Rovers.
Yes he's given us our Rovers back and long may he continue to do so. KEEP THAT B**TARD !!!
