We do need new keeper, how many players you think we need to challenge again next season? We got a good team now but facing better teams every week we're need more quality and competition for places,I feel out of order saying that after a season we have had but I look at the games v top 5 this year and we need a bit more quality

Just a thought of when we last played City, when we were Div 2 and they were Div 1. I think this side would give a much better account of themselves, but City on the day seemed stronger in all areas.
This is what we have to aim for.

General point... I just hope we learnt the mistakes trolls & LL made when we went up. Still rankles with me. Golden opportunity p'eed up a wall. To be fair we did keep improving, from a team who scraped into the league 2 play offs to an established mid table league 1 team, and had a damn good FA cup run to boot! It was arguably only when LL left and Trolls went for his 'quality over quantity' approach that things started to go pear shaped.

My main preference would be to keep the squad we have together. Darrell has said that all will be offered new contracts but as we saw last season they don't all necessarily take them.
If they all sign contracts the squad is somewhat full.
The space for new signings will come from who leaves.

With no emergency loan window next year, to try to mitigate the risk a bit I think the squad will need to grow by 4-5 players just in case we get a run of a few injuries. I presume we would also have been going for a slightly bigger squad in league 1 anyway.

A Goalkeeper, Centre back, creative midfielder, 2 out and out wingers and a striker is what we need imo.

Whatever we do make sure we sign players on the way up not players looking for a contract at end of their best days. That's not to say the right, experienced player who will fit in shouldn't be considered. But in all the celebrations on Saturday point was made by players that this was the conference squad that did it. UTG!

I think that Darrell has intimated that the lack of loan players will be covered by the greater use of youth team players. It does make some sense to use your own young players rather than another teams'. I worry that the step up to League One may be too much for some of them, but I would like to see Lucas and the rest given a chance.

He was absolutely shocking when we played them three weeks ago. A player from a struggling Div 2 team that is himself struggling to get a new contract with them? I think we should be aiming a bit higher than that.
