Well done to the Gas on securing promotion to League 1, mind you left it late. Has to be said it was well deserved due to your excellent form since Christmas. No disrespect to Accrington but the following our clubs have merit a place in League 1. See you next season #Yellows

See you next season #Yellows The only thing better than us getting promotion, is having Wycombe lose 3-0 in a local derby, watching their local rivals get promoted and then learning about our promotion on the drive home.

Was thinking just this earlier! They were banging on about them "deciding" who was to go up, us or Oxford, only to get tonked in the game that is the highlight of their season and then for us to snatch promotion right at the death, in a not dissimilar way to how Southend did it last season. Sort of. Cheer up Gareth Ainsworth...

Yep well done - you can't knock back to back promotions at any level, a great achievement.
League One is a tough old div though, we spent way too long in there and clubs like Sheff U, Cov, Peterborough, MK Dons, Bolton etc will prove difficult opponents.
Are you sure DC will hack it as a L1 manager? I said Steve Cotterill should have been told 'thanks for everything but we need to move on with someone else' when we got promoted to the championship and I was 'shouted down' but he was clearly out of his depth.
Never ceases to amaze me that clubs are quick to tell certain players that they ain't good enough for the div above but they very rarely say the same to managers after promotion is gained...

Too many 82ers dishing out thinly veiled well done messages. Save the BS and get back to your building site.

Now you've got lee Johnson who is hardly proven championship and got you out of relegation so your point is a bit floppy.

I can't think that you know that much about the guy to raise the question. That isn't an insult, as I don't really know that much about Lee Johnson as a manager either. So some info may help. Darrell has managed for 6 years (well 5 and one as John Ward's assistant) and achieved four promotions - a pretty good starter. Having watched the gas for nearly 50 years, I would have to say he is probably the best tactician that we have ever had, with an uncanny knack of being able to change a game through his decisions. He is probably the best man manager that I can remember and has been largely responsible for the creation of an incredible team spirit and, importantly a massive will to win. Because of this, he drives players of reasonable ability to improve themselves. Having said that, he can also be ruthless if a player is not up to the mark. Some of your red bretheren have convinced themselves that he is 'Dopey Daryll' [sic] and so on, just as they still think we are a hoofball team. Truth is, he has an excellent footballing brain and ditched the more agricultural style as soon as he got in position. And now, unlike any previous time in Bristol Rovers history, he has a budget to compete with the other teams in League 1. Thankfully, there is a clear rapport between Darrell and Wael Al Qadi, which is another positive. I don't know if we will be successful next season, but I know that I feel more comfortable with him in charge than anyone else I could name.

If we were in League One with another manager - and had to pick a replacement - DC would no doubt be the one we were all after. And if others haven't noticed that he's hot property - well then good.
