I think this is all a little harsh. Accrington had the same game as us by all accounts and were just unlucky enough not to get the goal that we did. They had loads of chances and hit the bar three times!

Why are we still talking about Aaccrington anyway?
Let's look at next seasons opponents, not last seasons also rans
Can't quite understand the outpouring of sympathy, they tried stealing our lunch!
Yes they punched over their weight I'm sure, but so did we and we had the guts to keep punching til the end

But the facts are they can hit the woodwork all day long and it counts for diddly squat, when their time came they fell short whereas on this occasion we didn't

If they had the same etc. I get that we scored and they didn't but there's a lot of people saying how they bottled it or couldn't break them down etc which is a bit harsh. They had a goal disallowed at the death of first half too.

But in theory time added on is for time that hasn't been played during normal play and everyone should only play a total of 90 mins.
A goal disallowed for all we know could have been ten yards off side.
Its all if's and buts and as Brian clough once said "if my Auntie had a C*ck she would be my Uncle"
The same when we went out the league we didn't step up when it mattered ,Accy didn't on Saturday, i'm sure they are / were good enough but they didn't do it when it counts and thats why the league table looks the way it does.

One factor of the late goal, was that Stanley were left with no time to make tactical changes to press for a win. and there was me thinking they would be trying to win the game from the off. No doubt they were, but there comes a point where you have throw caution to the wind like DC did and throw more attacking players on. We were trying to win as well from the start weren't we? my point is they had no chance to go for broke having heard we had scored

So they are exactly like us and every other team in the league. Unless we are going to compare every stat from every game it's all just cobblers! Every team in L2 started with the same stats. We finished ahead of them.

I just think we were luckier than some would have us believe as they came so close on a number of occasions. Still, thank the gods things turned out how they did

I hadn't realised that was the first time they'd failed to score at home all season.
A truly impressive achievement for Accrington none the less, especially considering they were favourites for relegation at the start of the season. I really hope they go up through the playoffs.

Yeah, when we were relegated, istm, there was a bit of whining about the cruel fates and the swings and roundabouts of outrageous fortune, as Craig Shakespeare might say, but mostly we just whined about the board, the management, and the players, coz ultimately, at the end of the day, as it turned out, they weren't good enough.

As for stats, things change throughout the season. Managers and coaches use stats to set the team up and fans use stats to make comparisons. Why would you rubbish that? Am I missing your point?

Bloody hell. Thought that was Saturday! Goal wasn't disallowed either, it was just never scored. Ref blew for half time as Windass(?) took the shot but before it crossed the line. Truly bizarre all round and you do have to feel for Accy. If it had been us I'd still be fuming.
