From the video's that I have seen it appears that once we scored the Acc'y fans became stunned despite the fact that there were still minutes to go before their final whistle.
I cant imagine our supporters doing the same, had we done so what might the outcome have been. Has anyone seen anything to the contrary.
For me, Saturday was the high point of 70 plus years of watching Rovers (am 79 but the war got in the way) for a number of reasons, one being the the intense volume of support we gave the team throughout the 90+ minutes.I was talking to a Steward who was on duty and he said that although he was a C supporter he had to admire our passion and support and admitted that g8 would NOT equal that.
Was not impressed with the West Ham minority last night.

We would probably tear up our 50/50 tickets into confetti size and throw them into the air.

I think with just minutes to go hearing your promotion challengers had just taken the the lead would knock most fans for six, ours included. I guess we were lucky that D&R were so poor we were making chance after chance and you sense we could always score hence the support.

I wonder what would have happened had we scored earlier?. It would have given Accy a far greater opportunity to do it for themselves. It was like nipping in with a very late bid on Ebay! not giving the opposition any time to respond. :-)

Seen the footage of the crowd when the news came through we'd just scored.
It's tough being a fan. Real tough. Can associate with what they went through.

We would probably tear up our 50/50 tickets into confetti size and throw them into the air. Talking of the 50/50, the prizes on Saturday amounted to £2200, which means £4400 worth of tickets were sold. Out of a gate of just over 10000 home fans means over 30% of fans bought a ticket, which is an incredible achievement.

The one thing that I would NOT say about D&R on Saturday was that they were poor. I personally thought that they belied their position at the foot of the table. I thought that they were composed on the ball in midfield and that they did pose a threat or two at times up front.
In defense I thought that they were slightly naïve and disorganised at times. This could, in part, be due to the nature of the game where we had to go on the attack from the very first and the atmosphere that we created within the ground. Their defensive disorganisation allowed us to cut through them at times but the fact that we seemed able to create attacks in wave after wave was just as much down to the determined performance that we put in. We created chance after chance and, yes, we missed some sitters. However, a lot of the missed chances were simply a result of the brilliance of D&R's last ditch defending (some of their Blocks were out of this world). Even when we beat the defenders, the Goalkeeper had a Worldie.
I am not saying that they were the greatest team to come to the Mem, but they played their part. I just thought that every single one of our players was magnificent and it took every ounce of determination that we had to get over the line

Accy thought they had it all wrapped up the week before, coleman claimed they had done a leicester and thought his team would walk over stevenage. just goes to show the season isnt over till its over. plymouth thought they had the autos wrapped up at christmas FFS.

I think like we found a couple of weeks earlier Stevenage were an hard nut to crack, and I guess had that bit of luck needed to get the result, unlike D&R whose luck ran out at the death.

Second half they were over run and just relied on their goalie making save after save plus Taylor, Gaffney & Lockyer all missed fairly easy chances in the first half, on another day we could have ran out 5 - 1 winners.

One factor of the late goal, was that Stanley were left with no time to make tactical changes to press for a win.
All in all a bit of a hammer blow to any team.
They certainly have my admiration though, for a club that size (no disrespect) be that good all season is impressive. I hope they go up.
I recall GD addressing an SC meeting years back and explaining how a club our size needs a year or two to recover financially from a failed challenge before having another crack. If that is the case for BRFC then a fear for Stanley next season if they don't make it in the play offs. Wish them all the best

Don't know about them but I still bloody am ! In hindsight I've now gone from saying D&R were good to actually quite poor. There is however no doubt about them being entertaining. If the keeper/defence went from exceptional (copywrite Ray Wilkins) to half decent we would have still put 4 or 5 past them and we'd be harping on about how awful they were.

All I can say is thank you Stevenage, certainly a stubborn bunch
I'd agree that our 92mins goal was about perfect timing really, once the players had that sink in at Accy, game over

It was like nipping in with a very late bid on Ebay! not giving the opposition any time to respond. :-) Sorry but i cant see how it would. If anything it would of added even more pressure. If the roles were reversed and all we had to do was to beat Stevenage at home to go up,then we would have fielded our strongest attacking line up from the start. If the scores were 0-0 at half time then DC would probably of waited 15 mins or so into the second half to have made another attacking substitution. If still no breakthrough with 20 mins to go then i'm sure he would have added another attacking option and then another one with say the final ten mins. That is exactly what Accy did.You can do no more than try to win your own game, regardless of what is going on elsewhere. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36176401 (click on Line ups )
