I think the OP's talking nonsense about BB as what other Div 1 club is going to offer him a better deal than we can offer him? Decent pay, a good group of players and almost guaranteed 1st football??
As far EH it's clearly down to him whether he wants to stay and fight for a first team place or try is luck at a Div 2 side, but is he really going to turn down a Div 1 contract??

I think Bodin will stay and if he does I definitely wouldn't be moving him off the wing for next season. He scored 13 from the wing last season and got numerous assists too, so why would you move him? A goal scoring winger is a massive asset for any squad, and moving him upfront if MT leaves doesn't automatically mean he'll score as many or more goals. We should be replacing MT if he leaves and keeping Bodin on the wing IMO, where he's been absolutely terrorising defences all season. I think he's better coming in off the right and finding space in pockets, rather than being upfront with his back to goal and a big CB breathing down his neck. True, if it ain't broke, don't fix it comes to mind. By putting Bodin down the middle and losing Taylor we could be creating 2 problems instead of 1.

Got a feeling Bodin's natural position IS up front as a striker. Let him take that spot on if Matty goes.

We currently have one of the best wingers we've had at Rovers in years (along with Carayol), so moving him into another position for next season where he may not be as effective, AND then having to try and find a replacement winger would be a bizarre move. He's getting into goalscoring positions and banging them in as it is, without having to be played as a striker. You want goals coming from all over the pitch. Bodin is a gem of a player to have on the wing and has never had as good a goalscoring season in his career as he's just had. Moving him would be madness.

His career has for the most part been up front and he's been far from impressive. From the wing he is able to come inside and get into the positions he regularly scores from. He's a good winger and it suits him, I don't want him being moved up front!

Yeah, we just spent five years trying to find a match winning winger. And as soon as we do, people want to move him.

I would sign the daggers keeper after the amazing performance last Saturday.

Ellis lives close to Newport and Billy in Wiltshire; so surely a big plus for them re-signing is that they won't need to relocate. I can't see Bodin going, but Ellis may want first team football.

One decent performance does not a decent performer make, conceded 57 in 29 games...

Customer in the shop today said that cheltenham are showing some interest in Parkes, sounds like BS to me but you never know It sounds a sensible move for all concerned as Parkes has hardly shone at Div 2 level, in either our relegation season or this season, so I doubt he'll get much game time next season.

If MT does go (looking likely) this is a golden opportunity for Ellis. He did really well for us in the back end of last season and I believe he does have the ability to perform at L1 level. It's his work rate you have to question, but I must say when he came on on Saturday he tried as hard as I've ever seen him try. He really wanted it and his level of effort was much higher than I'd seen from him before.

I watched Martin Thomas let 9 in against Spurs and he was by far our best player that day!
