I think Keiran Preston will be offered a contract and feature in the team at some point.that's a bold prediction !! And a wrong 'un (see Cantankerous post, just above). I guess it shows why I do not usually predict

No doubting the contract is well deserved but I think Mildenhall will not be first choice next season but back up. Not as mobile and agile anymore is Steve. But is there any real evidence to support that view? I can't see his displays in recent weeks were any different than during our relegation season and nobody complained then he was past it.

Completely agree. I've never been a huge SM fan. Even when we went to the conference I wasn't that excited to see him retained. However, over the second half of last season he has been immense. Completely deserves this contract. His best Bristol Rovers form yet. Seems to be getting better if anything.

He was excellent last season and he deserves the chance to stake a claim on the Jersey.

There is no doubt in my mind that Steve is not as mobile as he once was. There is nothing wrong with that, age catches up,with everyone at some stage. Some earlier than others. Dont think for one minute I am slating the bloke, but plenty will do just that on here! I am saying he is not as mobile or agile as he once was. I M O. From the games I've seen this season. He is still a decent keeper, no doubting that.

One goal he got slated for on here was, I think, at Accrington where a cross come shot beat him but the Brighton goalie got caught out with virtually the same type of cross last night and nobody blamed him. No doubt there's better goalies around but it we're going to sign one we're going to have to pay for decent Div 1 wages for a better one then have Mildenhall sat on the bench also earning decent money.
