And who is to say we don't have an ace up our sleeves in the form of a new site to really pile the pressure on. One of the duties of these new very professional board members is surely to find an alternative site in south glos. or be offered one by South Glos Imagine that! Like others have said, THE most important thing is that the deal is right for the club. We were desperate before and UWE were able to call the shots - but now things are different. If UWE aren't prepared to settle for a deal that's beneficial to the club, then we look elsewhere. I'd rather wait another 5+ years but end up with the perfect deal for the club on land that generates the club money left, right and centre, than end up on the UWE site with them taking the vast majority of the income the stadium generates. Hopefully UWE give in though and sell us the land and we offer them the opportunity to allow their students to use the facilities (gym etc) free of charge and significantly discounted STs and corporate hospitality. We're no longer sat with a begging bowl and have to take the scraps thrown our way. This isn't ragbag Rovers any more - it can be our way or the highway

One of the duties of these new very professional board members is surely to find an alternative site in south glos. or be offered one by South Glos I'm sure at the very least conversations have taken place. Our new owners will definitely have a plan B or will be working on one simultaneously. If we get news in the next 6 months that they aren't proceeding with uwe i wouldn't be surprised to see a new scheme on different land announced at the same time. I'm willing to bet we have identified a number of sites and i'm sure uwe have been informed.

We've waited so long for a stadium, not just the last five years but the last fifty. I personally would rather wait longer in order that the club can be the main financial beneficiaries of the thing.

The way I see it is we are now only a promotion away from the big leagues Championship/Prem . Not sure where in the table it comes but the Championship is something like the 4th/5th most popular attendance wise in Europe. lets be honest ..... The Mem is hardly fit to host championship football is it ? We NEED a new stadium fit for purpose ASAP and can't afford wait yrs IF as stated by the chairman " we're not here to hang about".

Its better supported than serie A.

They've 'splashed' a few million clearing the clubs debts.

Don't want to build elsewhere. How long will it take to plan, apply for planning permission etc. Plus it could get turned down again! It took us years to actually get planning permission somewhere. Uwe has good links etc as well. Hope that's not the new plan.

I had a 99 year lease on a flat in Brentford where I used to live, but was very surprised when I moved in to a flat in Weston, it had a 999 year lease!

I thought the landing gear was down. A sudden change in the weather and being diverted to another airport would not be good

Uwe has good links etc as well. Hope that's not the new plan. If we wanted some land in South Gloucester we would get permission and start work in a year. They are our "friends". I know there is a lot of advantages at UWE but a stadium out in the sticks would not attract any opposition and we could have our own bus stops and a bigger car park, then later a bowling alley a brothel and some restaurants
