Which would you prefer a year from now? Promotion from League 1 or winning the FA cup? Which I know won't happen, but just pretend.
I think I know the answer already though.
Until 15 years ago or so many teams would have chosen the FA cup win for the sheer glory of it all and a day at Wembley. With so many Wembley playoffs for lower league fans, and the lack of respect for the cup by Prem teams (and many other reasons), it's a pale shadow of what it was.
Would anyone actually prefer the cup to going up?

Promotion. When we're in the prem, we'll be winning the FA Cup and Champs league.

Fa cup.......the clubs name will always be on the list of winners. Nobody remembers who got promoted from league one (or cares) from the general public.

FA cup any day for me, we would have the chance to win league one, the next year or the year after that, seeing your team win the FA cup is a once in a lifetime opportunity (unless you're a plastic chelski fan)

Now it's getting silly!! FA Cup no doubt. Get promotion you can always be relegated. FA Cup, your names on it forever. Perhaps it's my age but FA Cup every time. UTG!

I still think it retains it's prestige to the smaller clubs though. Hence why you are probably getting different replies to what you were expecting.

I expected virtually everyone to say "don't be ridiculous, promotion of course". I'm surprised.

I'm torn on that one, but as others have said, it would go down in football history if we won the FA Cup as a L1 side having been in the Conference 2 years earlier. Think how amazing it would be! Then promotion the year after

We're not going to win the FA cup. We've got a great chance of promotion so it's a no brainier. If we win promotion again it'll be the first time in football league history an English club has done the triple.

Fa cup.......the clubs name will always be on the list of winners. Nobody remembers who got promoted from league one (or cares) from the general public. Nobody except Bristol Rovers supporters who want to see our club progress so badly. Who cares what the general public think ? I support the gas for me and the people I stand with in our support for our club not the general public who would rather watch a mid table premier league match on sky than come and support us. f**k the general public we need promotion again soon as possible.

I was going to say Promotion but then realised that the winners of the FA Cup qualify for the Europa League!
