I'm really glad I slagged him off now for no reason. If I hadn't there is no way he would have had that pang of conscience. Ahem...... If that cheap shot was aimed at me then it missed! I never slagged him off, I gave my opinion on how I would feel if he left. He has proved himself to be a man of his word and therefore he's alright with me. I have been his greatest advocate since he joined us, I stood by him when we were relegated, and when we struggled in the early part of the 2 seasons. He has now shown that he is not a chest thumping, badge kissing populist, all his extravagances on gaining a play-off place and promotion were from the heart and not grandstanding self promotion. He is one of us. Brilliant, onwards and upwards. UTG !!! have you got any more rants for say taylor bodin lockyer etc just in case they leave?? or maybe marcus stewart?

So we were told 4 bits of info. Leeds had asked permission to speak to DC, we said no unless they meet our conditions, we then offered a 3 year contract and DC signed. No need to panic, sounds as if from clubs position it went very smoothly albeit a bit rushed when Leeds started the ball rolling. I look forward to much eating of humble pie or re-writing of what some posters actually meant. Perhaps in future it might be good to wait for firm information and not go off on one like some have. I for one am delighted Wael and his associates are running our club. Onwards and upwards. UTG! Did I miss something? I'm certain that those (including me) who expressed frustration at the thought of DC leaving did explain their viewpoint. I didn't see one post slagging him off or that was critical of his potential departure that wasn't tempered with the caveat that they wanted him to stay, that he was a brilliant manager. My own frustrations were focused on what might have happened and I'm delighted that I got myself in a tizz over nothing. A thread about what manager and player you were most upset about about losing says everything. Supporters get down when they see the chance for the club to progress pushed back when assets leave. In times past its been inevitable, hopefully this shows its no longer the case. I couldn't be happier not to have my frustrations come to fruition. Well done for having absolute faith in everything. I've seen too much go wrong for BRFC to be that sure so quickly. Utg.

Phew what a relief, unfortunately I got up with the"doom and gloom" merchants.. valuable lesson learnt. I will probably get slaughtered for this but..although Rover's are my first love my other team is Newcastle united, so great news on both managerial fronts.

Some of you should hang your head in shame. Disgusting attitudes towards a man who has done so much for us and will continue to do so. Well, it's a bit like the girlfriend thing, isnt it? It's only the ones you really like, that you bother to get upset about. If you don't really care that much about her, then you can let her go without too much of a fuss, it's only the best ones that you go round their house when they're not there, break in, and take a meat cleaver to their panty drawer, then sh** on their bed, and write a poem on their bedroom wall out of smeared excrement, kill their cat, and write 'me and the cat still luv u,' in its blood on the ceiling and then send them 300 texts begging for their forgiveness, while hiding in their loft, humming your special song incessantly until the police come. I imagine. I didn't know DC had a cat.

Probably the first time ever a big club has come after a player or coach and we've been it the situation to sent them packing. hope Matty T follows suit.

Slightly different scenario as MT can leave on a free, so the only way to convince him to stay is persuade him that he could still be a Championship in a year or two if he stays, and also meet his wage demands (within reason).

I've seen too much go wrong for BRFC to be that sure so quickly. Utg. My point was that people had starting ranting before any of us knew anything. Saying stuff like "if you want to leave then you can f**k off" or what ever else was posted was disrespectful and OTT which was why I challenged it. That's my view point which I've also explained. No one is doubting how much people were upset at the thought of him leaving and no one is being smug for having absolute faith either. Faith is just an excuse for believing something you want to believe based on no evidence. It's as ridiculous a stand point as going off on one.
