Hate the waiting on this, if he goes think someone like Gary Monk would be a good option, see others have mentioned him before on here, did a reasonable job at the swans. If DC goes I hope we don't drag our feet, and quickly sound out the right replacement, as we need to recruit well to kick on. Come on Wael lets persuade DC to stay.

Ollie to come back would be the biggest bet and if he could bring Penrice back with him we could have a right good go at L1.
Does Marcus Stewart deserve a shot? Nothing screams at me that he is manager material but he's mostly the brains behind our free kick routines and set pieces. So has some tactical nous about him.
Could we pull a biggish name out the hat like Nigel Adkins? Got Southampton out of L1 and made them a force in the Championship.
The one I would like though would be Justin Edinburgh. Did brilliant at Newport and Gillingham have had a good year as well. Could we pinch him? I think it's do-able. We are a credible package now.

I don't want DC to go but understand if he leaves, Leeds a massive club support and history wise. Its a similar job he took on with us but on a bigger scale. If he gets it right the rewards are massive for him and his ambitions. If he is to be replaced then Gary Monk is my choice. I want a young manager with a point to prove with experience at all levels playing or managing.

Apart from Browners long effort how many goals did we score from free kicks and corners? MS usually spends most match days sat on the bench letting DC & SY send out all the instructions from the side lines. If we go for MS then that would be a typical NH appointment - the cheap and easiest option. Whoever gets the job will get the chance to mould the whole set up from Academy to first team coaching staff, it's seem incredible to me DC is prepared to walk away from that opportunity for potentially 6 months work at Leeds before becoming the next fall guy. Justin Edinburgh is a good shout but you sense he might now be happy to be based back in the south east.

Also wouldn't be signing off any more player contracts. Why lumber a new manager with players they haven't chosen. Lots of scope for a total overhaul for a proper go at league 1 Yes but that takes time. Why would we get rid of the players that got us here just because the manager has gone. Don't know but would imagine that it would be mid June before new manager came, if there were fewer players he would have to work very quickly to get a squad together before 1st July or thereabouts when pre-season starts. That smacks of panic. That could mean getting players in just for the sake of it to make up numbers. No, players should stay whatever occurs because we don't need half a new squad we need about 3 (or 4 depending on MT) players who will get into the team and be an improvement on what we've got. League 2 last season was full of teams who got large quantities of players in but were mid table at best, Notts Co, Cambridge, Orient. We don't need major overhaul, certainly don't think any manager would be lumbered with our players, we need a few better players who go straight in the team. That would give us a proper go at League 1 imo.

Problem is most managers like to bring in their own players, look at our squad and how many have an old DC connection somewhere in their past?
It must be maddening to Wael that DC's let him send out contract offers one week then try and move to another club the following week, as that probably the best part of £2m has been offered to players via new contracts.

TBH we don't know if DC wants to move to another club do we? We know there's a chance of it but there is more rumour than hard information. You may be right but we just don't know. And that is difficult at the moment. But I don't think offering the contracts we have is wrong either. For all we know some of the offers might not be too attractive for some who DC wouldn't be too upset to lose. In all of this we don't know, we are imagining, putting our own gloss on it and some (not you) are in pure fantasy land. I guess that's the modern social media savvy world we live in. Whatever and whoever UTG!

And your threads stating that Taylor had signed a contract with Hearts in January, then he might be off to Bolton(even though hes signed for Hearts) isnt a joke...? And the new beginning thread? He comes out with so much BS he's bound to get something correct eventually..! He has linked Taylor with (and I quote) Oxford, Hearts, Barnsley, Nottingham Forest and Bolton, I've probably missed a few too. Think he's going through the 92 so when Taylor does go he got it right. If you buy enough tickets You'll eventually win...

Many, many happy Ollie memories. He will have learnt much since we last had him here.

Well, there's no denying his success rate. He's not a spent journeyman manager like most of them on that list. Clarke could well join them if he chooses Leeds.

With the Swansea connection we now have I wouldn't be surprised to see Gary Monk or even Martinez offered the job. "We're not here to lanquish" and I think they'd relish the chance.

Starting to sound a bit cringey now , why on earth would two ex premier league managers come to us ? Wasn't so long ago we were all taking the water out of the sh** heads when they were making these outrageous managerial appointment guesses?

Monk isn't really a Prem manager as yet. He was thrown in the deep end at Swansea and needs experience. Martinez needs to rebuild his reputation. His attacking style suits an up and coming team more than the safety first style employed by the likes of Everton.
