I came across this earlier in regard to ticket sales for this weekend's playoffs finals. I know there not the worst numbers but I thought Plymouth would have sold 40k and Barnsley 25k.Millwall and Sheff weds will hit 40k.Wimbledon sales are decent. This was posted yesterday so of course more would have been sold.Shocked that Hull have only sold 25k if true. Shows our numbers on our previous trips to Wembley and Cardiff in a good light. Don't think many other clubs would have taken the 31/33k we took last May for a non league play-off final. www.plymouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=447853

That's shockingly bad from Hull.

I think some of it comes down to the experience of visiting Wembley. The playoffs and JPT Finals have been going long enough for a large number of reasonably supported clubs to have experienced a visit to the national stadium. So it's no longer a novelty and the stadium is a sole less dump in souless part of London. I would prefer the old FA semi final idea of moving around the country. A playoff final at Old Trafford or the Stamford Bridge would be much more atmospheric.

That's shockingly bad from Hull. I live near Hull and the 17.00 kick off is what puts a lot off

I thought rovers sold about 27,000 tickets last time out (?)
I think the ticket price plus the travel costs put people off...especially if you can pay a tenner and watch it live on sky. The distance will also put some off ,Bristol is a reasonable hop to London . Plymouth and hull are a long way from Wembley.

I think that is very poor from Barnsley and Wimbledon. When you think Hereford took over 20,000 to Wembley last weekend.

I read that the offical number was anywhere between 30k to 34,000 which makes sense. From the 40k we took in 2007 where we had only the top and bottom tiers we filled half of one side of the stadium. Last year we had the bottom section, the whole of the middle tier- which spread from one side at the halfway line mark, right around to well over the halfway line on the other side.It was only half the top tier that we never sold out last May.So if you moved the middle section to that the top tier like in 2007 I think we would only have been 4-6,000 down on 2007.

I was only recalling from memory (which is dodgy at the best of times) the total crowd of about 45,000 and Grimsby sold about 18,000 (much more than they sold this year)

Cant remember it being near 18,000.

I may be wrong but I don't believe Plymouth have been to Wembley for 20 years, so they do have the novelty factor on their side. Mind you, bearing in mind their geographical position, their support both home and away is excellent.

Been through all of this before. Was definitely closer to 27k then the 30k+ mark. Someone did go through Wembley seating plan and allocated areas and add the seats up. A massive chunk of the bottom tier was for big day out tickets (you tube footage from neutrals shows this) and seats by tunnel were corporate/relatives etc. My gripe is that a mate of mine has Plymouth tickets for same price band area as my tickets last year and his are £4 cheaper for play offs a league higher

Plymouth selling around 35,000 is good going in my view given their journey time must be at least 90 mins longer each way by motorway, plus it must be a much smaller City than Bristol? Millwall seem to be a bit slow in starting ticket sales!

I think Millwall will take 40,000 to Wembley. I'm willing to risk GGMI quoting me on that afterwards. Easy trip, big fan base if they ever achieve success - like a nasty version of us really.

That's shockingly bad from Hull. It's a deprived area and there is lots of unemployment, o no surprise really, especially at the rip off prices at Wembley (and on the bloody train)
