It's all pretty cringe really. What next? UK domination? Probably want to wait until you've actually had a modicum of success in Bristol first!

Lansdown has already made an approach and been rejected, mainly because they are Gloucestershire cricket club and dont want to be associated with the Bristol Sport franchise

With Rovers soon (hopefully) relocated to south Glouc, perhaps we'll have closer links to the cricket. Those Friday night 20/20s are bedlam and mucho fun!

It's all very laughable IMO and I'm sure the teds are delighted they have torn the "city" wording from the seats at AG
I know a lot of them cringe at the Bristol Sport franchise, if it were me I'd run and keep on running

Its an interesting thing he's doing there. Is there any other city in the UK where a single person is acquiring all possible sports clubs? I wonder what his end game is? He must have a grand plan.

That would finish the new stand off nicely!

The strange thing is he only really owns two clubs of any standing - all the others are minor sports at best. Rugby club would not have survived but for Rovers, Lansdown nowhere to be seen at that point. Also seems strange that the cricket is not mentioned along with Rovers as a major thing he does not own. Truth is we really should be working closely with Gloucestershire - hopefully our new owners will see the benefit and make it happen.

Age old argument - but traditionally alot of Bristol was in Somerset, I'd prefer Mr Lansdown took them under his wing rather than Glos. Incidentally, how do you know Glos rejected an approach from SL? Genuinely interested. Cheers

Excuse me ? They are Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, and play games in other parts of that county as well as Bristol so a very reasonable stance to take. Just because they did not bend over for the mighty Lansdown .......

Glos CCC have always had their home ground in north Bristol.

Do you mean "Bristol Sport Mens Soccer Division"? It's hard to keep up with these new franchise clubs with no history.

I'd buy a Glos CCC annual membership card to stop SL getting anywhere near cricket (and I'm a Somerset supporter!).
No doubt looking at the Warwickshire model and 20/20!
