He's my friend and work mate. He isn't a Gashead but does come to some of our games. I asked him if he'd take my Gas flag to Marseille? He said no problem. He said he'd fly our colours during his time in France and the flag features in this film.
The truth of what happened last Saturday through the eyes of an England supporter...

Any way the video can be sent to the FA? Obviously SOME England fans would have been intent on causing trouble, but it seems the French police failed to react to the Russians and only got involved when our fans responded to the violence, plus the stadium security was worse than useless. As usual, England fans took most of the blame. Grrrrr.

In the age of mobile footage surely there is enough evidence to clear englands tarnished name. Any non football fan watching media coverage and listening to pundits will wrongly assume its the 'english minority' Remember everyone if you are in a bar in marseille with your family and some ultras come flying in just let yourself get kicked in. Can't fight back and have Alan Shearer tutting at your behaviour. Grow some balls media and pundits ffs Soap box folded away

Powerful stuff, I am so glad I wasn't there. I have lived through the 70's and 80's watching Rovers and if I'm honest got involved in one or two scuffles when I was a young scalawag but this was on another scale all together. I hope English firms, and i am thinking of the likes of the east London mobs like Millwall and West Ham don't see this as a challenge and get organised themselves.

I just hope that those who blindly believed our press and believe all english fans are scum, will have the balls to say sorry we got it wrong, and if not maybe open their closed minds just a tad and realise that england fans can get pished and enjoy themselves in the sun.
Why waste time sending this to the fa, imo this would be better being sent to a news agency by the copyright holder as hopefully it will get picked up and be shown on news programmes worldwide, only then will the fa pretend to take note
Glad yer mate came back ok fella, tell him if i ever meet him i'll buy him a brew

Glad I'm not there, more of a war zone than a fan zone.

For me the vid is a little bit over dramatised, whilst I believe and understand what he's saying but if we start posting this everywhere it will be pretty embarrassing.

If that happens il have no choice but to split up with my mrs and immediately move home to Bristol, on the streets if I have to.

Not doing anything would be embarrassing. That kind of attitude is embarrassing. Over dramatised? No. All images captured by Andy apart from the mask pic. But he confirmed to me that's what some of the Russians were wearing. I was very careful with the production of this piece. This film is simple. The only addition to production - outwith actuality - is the music. And that was carefully selected to capture tension. Over dramatic? Being caught up in all of that and watching disabled fans being hit and others kicked in the head is hardly 'low key'. And as for it being embarrassing to post it? Five thousand views in one day and countless shares by people on social media would indicate many disagreeing with your view. England supporters are tired of being the scapegoats for mindless thuggery. I'm not English. I'm a Scot. But England is my home and I'm right behind the Three Lions in this tournament. And I'm right behind us saying enough is enough. You have your view. Fair enough. But there's nothing embarrassing about standing up for yourself and your fellow supporters. Cheers JT

Cheers JT I'm not taking away from the production I'm sure you're very proud of your work. I'm not slating it, I mean you got like 5000 views that's radical, it makes me want to re think my life. But like I said I don't doubt how bad the trouble is just think a simple interview with description an pics would have sufficed. No need to get on your high horse.

I'm astounded any of those Russians involved got out of the ground so easily with no arrests made.
What did they do, fly out the stadium?

I thought that it would have been better without the music which I found irritating.
The guy seemed shaken which isn't surprising as the level of violence was high,I am guessing that its probably quite shocking for people who haven't come across large scale disorder and will probably result in some people not going to football matches or even going abroad on holiday again.
Obviously most people would agree that its wrong to assault someone in a wheelchair,I didn't see any pictures of that. However I don't feel any sympathy for the sort of 'supporters' who mob up outside a bar chanting obscenities at local women and throwing bottles,no I wasn't in Marseilles but I have been away with England and I have seen it happen. Lets face it most football crowds contain some of this element,it would be nice to think that some of them got smashed and stamped on in France, sadly though they would have been the first ones on their toes and it was probably more innocent people who got done over. After a couple of nights of getting bottles thrown at them I don't blame the local Gendarmerie for being slow off the mark in stopping the violence. Some of the comments afterwards were almost funny, 'oh they were bigger than us' 'they were organised' 'they had been training for it' etc etc, all in the 'its not fair' mode.
Anyone thinking that you can avoid trouble if you are sensible is kidding themselves in this situation, the Russians had come with an agenda and English fans were the target, these blokes are very dangerous and don't just fight at football.
