Obviously dont want him to go,but here's a few names of potential replacements to attempt to fill those big boots should he decide to leave us, Jay simpson. Sam winnall. John Akinde. Willian grigg. A mixture of league 1 and 2 proven goal scorers there,i know akinde may water some people off. I'd like to think with our recent change in circumstances we carry a bit more clout now and are a bit more appealing to players joining the gas. Lets hope for some good news today.

This is literally the worst person in the history of this forum. Edit: Actually, in the history of any forum. Edit II: If forum posts were National teams, this would be England.

LOL Will Grigg is worth a couple of million and plays in the Championship Sam Winnall also worth a couple of million probably and will also be playing in the Championship next season

As regards our paystructure i haven't got a clue to be honest so don't know whats a realistic wage for us at league 1 level. I thought if we lost Mt the club might show there intensions and spend a bit to replace a striker who has been fantastic for us,especially as we are in a harder league with bigger and better teams. Perhaps i was wrong?

Perhaps i was wrong? I think 10-15k a week is certainly asking a bit too much. If we could afford that, I doubt we'd have to worry about MT leaving. Akinde is a carthorse and was at his level in the Conference. League Two is beyond him IMO and League One - christ no. As for the others, no doubting their talent but well, well out of our reach. Tbh I'm not sure who could fill MTs shoes - part of the reason why we need him to bugger off ASAP if he is gonna leave, as it's going to be a challenge and a half to replace him and time is not on our side now.

Blimey that puts things into perspective regards paystructure, hopefully the club can dig a little deeper to keep a player who fits into this squad beautifully otherwise like you've said time is running out.

They are just arranging the open top bus to take him around Bristol to celebrate him signing a new contract, just hope they don't give him a cup!

Just saw him getting petrol in Emersons. Someone else shouted out across the forecourt "are you signing Matty?" He replied "I'm not sure what I'm doing yet" I know he wasn't gonna give anything away but it didn't seem positive from his body language. Attachment DeletedI think he's made up his mind

or he's about to sign for a new club when his contract expires with us? If he was going to stay with us is he really going to wait until the last moment before signing just in case another club makes him an offer.
