Why no announcement either way - he's no longer ours so have to believe he's gone.

Question is, what was BRFC's deadline if there's still no decision and his contract has expired?
Very un-DC to allow it to drag on like this.

Apparently Taylor was in training today even though he's out of contract.

When did SH say that as I genuinely don't remember him saying he would be rovers all time highest payed player. Just that it was a good offer? I am thinking the same. I know SH said they have made him a fair and competitive offer but can't remember him saying he will be the highest paid player ever. They did say that DC was going to be the highest paid manager though after he agreed his new deal.
For what it is worth, I am still hopeful that MT will stay and I will not give him any stick for taking his time over his options. I enjoy my job, made some good friends and would find it hard to leave but if an opportunity came up for me to do the same job but being made a considerably better wage, I and the vast majority of others would find the decision hard. Yes I am sure he enjoys playing football but it is still a job and career for him and the decision he makes could potentially shape the rest of his life. Yes it was this. Topper gets in a pickle again.

That is what I thought and I agree with everything you said. I think people have got the DC offer confused with MT's offer? "Rovers have moved to keep their prized playing asset by offering to almost double his current wage in a deal that would see him become the club's highest-paid player – but will that be enough to persuade Taylor to turn his back on the riches that may be on offer in the Championship Read more: www.bristolpost.co.uk/bristol-rovers-striker-matty-taylor-linked-start/story-29385444-detail/story.html#ixzz4DA5YMDtP Follow us: @bristolpost on Twitter | bristolpost on Facebook Read more at www.bristolpost.co.uk/bristol-rovers-striker-matty-taylor-linked-start/story-29385444-detail/story.html#BdrBiDZD6e8lu1zF.99It may not say "ever" but it's clearly a decent offer given it's years since we were last paying Div 1 wages.

Given that as yet he apparently hasn't signed for anyone else and we assume he has had offers, my assumption is that he would probably like to stay and negotiations are ongoing

DC back from honeymoon tomorrow - guess he will decide one way or another very soon. As Langford Gas said negotiations could well be ongoing and waiting for DC to rubber stamp. Who knows....??

If this is the case then all this waiting around for player news makes sense. Once DC is back i'm sure there will be plenty of news etc.
