Still can't see the attraction of going back to Oxford if he wants to progress with his career? Seemingly shocking business by NH, &DC?, letting a player leave for free when we could have got £100K's, if not £1m's, for him, or at least retained his services for a couple more seasons. We've lost 1 player from 2 promotion squads. Worthwhile risk compared to previous history. Imagine Jamie White, Blissett, Parkes, Balanta etc still having a year or more left to run on massive contracts. Yeah, it's a shame we've lost money on a single potential transfer but we've also saved £1000s on a lot of other players. Difference with those is they weren't top scorer last season and apart from Parkes were never going to be offered a decent contract.

Taylor could have flopped and been on a 3 year contract? Works both ways

Just been told that Matty has been severely shafted by his agent. And now has nothing on the table apart from us,if that's even still there. No insurance,no club and personal trainer.

Sounds unlikely - all agents get the best deals possible - it's in their interest to do so! Possibly something the agent thought was lined up hasn't come off, but no way would he/she not look after MT as well as they could.

Perhaps he is stringing Taylor along trying to hold out for someone to make a late offer meaning he gets a nice brucie bonus in his back pocket

Kept him waiting and stringing him along - maybe he was backup choice to Roofe. Then Roofe signs and Leeds say "actually mate, not interested". Does make you wonder...

Football agents are after one thing MONEY matty Taylor is not under contract so his agent is in his right for a new club to pay Taylor a signing on fee to which he takes a percentage the higher the fee the more he gets. This could be a case of his agent trying to get Taylor a move as opposed to Taylor really wanting to move just a thought

Gonna feel great when Tayor re-signs and we all know we were his last resort.
Best work on your finishing Matty.

Who cares ? If he signs for us I will be happy if he scores goals - I don't really think last resort comes into it as there must be a load of clubs who would like to sign the top scorer in the football league on a free.

If he's going to string us along till the last minute, best make sure he's on fire from the start is what I'm saying. We've all seen some regular poor finishing from Matty in the lower leagues, probably why there's a bit of apathy surrounding whether he signs for us or not with some of the fanbase.

So if he does sign for us, he chose us! Not if the offers never existed he wouldn't? This summer transfer saga thread has more twists & turns than the previous Cureton/JJOT summer threads!

Back to the Scottish League. Aberdeen who finished second last season are currently losing to a team from Luxembourg. I just can't see why players or fans think it's a step up.
