Let's not get too judgemental - sounds like he had a personal issue which probably meant he acted out of character. Anyway, he has his community service so no real harm done, although I accept that may be more down to luck then judgement.

Now we know why he had a fitness problem... Yeah. DC made some sort of allusion to this a while ago. About his "lifestyle". I've had a soft spot for Parkesy ( don't know why - perhaps because he stayed) but looks like it's good he moved on. Once again DC knew what he was doing.

Same here always liked parkes, don't really know why, he was always willing to have a chat with the fans and sign autographs for the kids. As much as I can't stand drunk driving and will never condone it, he's made a mistake no one was hurt and he will be punished , hopefully he learns and sorts things out

Man-in-mid-20s-like-drinking-alcohol-shocker! Why would you try and trivialise drink driving? He hasn't been pulled over while half a pint over the limit. He was two and a half times the legal drink-drive limit and he crashed into a parked car. That parked car could easily have been a pedestrian. Tom Parkes is damned lucky he's not about to go to prison.

Indefensible and I would say a very light sentence because for those who are defending him it is only LUCK that he is not a Lee Hughes or a Luke McCormick. Well rid of and who knows perhaps he was in a similar condition the night before Newport at home!

TBH professional sportsmen going out and regularly getting wasted is not a great idea. No place for it anymore. Plenty of time for that after sport. We have just started random drug and alcohol testing at my workplace. I've been tested twice in the last month, fail and I am gone. Luckily at the moment I am inbetween dealers.
