To have a wild stab in the dark in an attempt to answer the OP's question, I'd go for around £2.5m...

Around the time we splashed out on Tillson, we also paid for Channing and Waddock if I remember rightly.
I'd say about £3M in total.

I'm guessing north somerset city 1982 Ltd. Men's sporting section have spent more on transfer fees for their current squad than Rovers have in their entire history.

Pretty sure we paid over £100K for the mighty Justin Richards. Seems legit. You have to pay high for that sort of quality.

I'm guessing north somerset city 1982 Ltd. Men's sporting section have spent more on transfer fees for their current squad than Rovers have in their entire history. And they didn't even pay for some of the players. Signed them, then went bankrupt. Let the bank take the hit. We might not have spent anywhere near them in terms of monetary, but we have always paid for those we did sign.

I have no idea about the answer, but since 2010 I bet it's a lot less than we spent in paying off the contracts of Trollope, Penney, Buckle, McGhee and Ward. That might help to explain why we were in the Conference recently.

Justin Richards £75k, 15 years ago now. Never forget him slicing a shot in a pre-season game at Clevedon, got me in the face and I was right on top of the pitch by the corner flag. No-one shouted 'f**king hell' louder than Richards himself. Id pay $75K to see that again. Still playing now , I always make "FACEBALL" the loudest shout of the game.

I think we spent the best part of a million in just a couple of years in the early nineties: Carl Saunders £60,000? Tillson £370,000 Justin Channing £275,000 Gary Waddock £100,000 Justin Skinner £130,000
There might be more from that era that I have forgotten, but we certainly weren't shy of splashing the cash then. I reckon we've probably spent 4 or 5 million over all.
