Don't eat pasties or pies so not bothered about the food but I am concerned that if this proves to be true it seems like the club are putting profit ahead of match day experience as less choice always = bad. A very strange decision and something that could easily be avoided with fan consultation.

Have we had official confirmation pies aren't being sold, or is this another rumour similar to Taylor signing for Hearts? If it is true then perhaps there's a logic explanation?

What makes it worse is that if you are in the seats, people start heading to the refreshments from 10 minutes before half time so you are constantly having to get up and down obscuring the view for the folks behind.
i stand but i like to watch every second of a match,,some watch about 75 minutes!! weird to me

To be fair I don't really understand the argument that it isn't a big deal, which is often made quite aggressively. Surely therein lies the whole point - it isn't that big a deal either way so why bother making the change, even if it's a relatively minor issue compared with stadium issues or whatever. Without meaning to be rude the staff in the pasty huts often seem quite inefficient so surely proper training or taking on a couple of extra staff on a Saturday is a small cost compared with the loss of revenue from all the people who buy pies, as well as the negative response from people who have a long journey etc.

If true it is quite obvious that it is nothing to do with the length of time it takes to serve a pie already inside of a bag. In fact it takes exactly the same time to serve a pasty also in a bag. As regards cost, surely the profit on a pie is similar to that of a pasty.I would suggest going by my regular experience in purchasing a pasty for GHB and a pie for myself not forgetting one tea and one coffee, its' down to the inability of the majority behind the counter to add up the money required. Perhaps some idiot proof tills or a maths course might help some charged with the task. I for one will be attending tomorrow and hope my three month sebatical without eating a curry pie comes to an end. No doubt if only pasties are available they were put in the heated ovens earlier today, in order to ensure they are suitably cremated by the time the ground opens tomorrow.

The last couple of posts have at least suggested some obvious flaws. Training, tills, manpower, process. Our setup I'd like what you see at local non league grounds. If we averaged 1000, it might be acceptable. So the answer is to reduce selection and choice? That is a cop out which probably has little to do with customer service and more to do with contracts and money.

The stadium manager has confirmed this, what more do you need.
I hardly think BRFC are going to make an announcement about this.
Try buying one tomorrow or ask Ian Holtby or Robert Lawrence.

Some of the staff seem totally unable to count the number of drinks I ordered, let alone the cost of a couple of pies. Sadly, this is not actually a joke.

Unfortunately most of the staff are casual students. The ones that attend Bristol Uni probably think the customers are below them socially. Robert Laurence would have had no say in this, the guy carries no clout and can't make decisions anyway....

I find it weird that nobody brought this up on Wednesday night, just me?

simple stuff guys....
a pie contains more meat to pastry than a pasty....
pastry cheap.... meat expensive....
therefore pies are more expensive to produce and the profit margins are smaller....

Tell your in the trade Paul! Having said that the price the club charges would still make them a handsome profit on pies alone.

Then charge accordingly. I don't like pasties so the reduced choice will lead me to eat elsewhere. I guess most will just not care and will buy a pastie instead.

Bring a pie and a lighter so you can heat it up if needed.
Have we switches suppliers or something and the new guys don't make pies but we're tied into a contract?

It appears that one individual is making these decisions without any consultation with supporters wishes.
Yes, it's pies today. What is next on the hit list? Bovril?
