Not fussed. IMO the club should be selling carrot sticks with hummus and avocado with prawns instead of fatty old pies anyway. #HealthyGas Lookout WeAreTheGas, some ruddy Forest Green supporter has high-jacked your account!

I know its good for the club, but it always amuses me how some fans cant go for a couple of hours without having any food or drink. Some people travel 2 hours or more to a home game, others come straight from work, so being able to get something decent to eat at the ground can be a necessity. I have to admit that for me it's part of the matchday experience.
Fair shout I didn't think of the fans travelling from afar. There are better options outside the ground but at least its money in our coffers!

We need hooters type girls going around selling pies, obviously wearing as little as possible This. Though not really bothered about the selling pies bit.

I thought that the pasty huts were a franchise and not part of the permanent infrastructure of the club.
I loved the pasties and, to be honest - my obsessive OCD requirement for a matchday pasty was as much responsible for promotion as the much vaunted Kettle from Newton Abbott. LIke Newton Abbott Gas, I won't be relinquishing my matchday "habit" anytime soon.
I never had a pie but I am not convinced that the cessation of their sales will reduce the size of the queues by very much, if at all. If it works, then yahoo, I look forward to being able to walk straight up to the Pasty Hut and indulging myself with no delays!!!
This seems a completely random and bizarre decision BUT at least it is beating any Matty Taylor Threads for the discussion point of the day.

Some people justifying it! hahaha jokers. I dont see how it reduces the queue but there must be more to it. As i say what is the ratio of pies to Pasties sold? Perhaps BSS or Ken will get a proper explanation?

No longer the case, they are all under the control of the football club.
I'm sure if it were not the case, the pies would still be available.

I think we are already fairly well known for selling pasties, and now there is nothing else I can see that in a few years we will be known as "The Pasties". Then given that the English language is always evolving we will become "Patsies", add on another 20 years or so and we will be called something else which I do not want to say on here.
and all because we stopped selling pies

Since we're talking pies, I went to my local Wetherspoon's at lunchtime today and had a Beef and Doombar Ale pie with mash and peas, and a pint. Very nice. It was a proper shortcrust pastry pie, not one of those little stews in a casserole dish with a flap of puff pastry thrown on top. And all for £7.

I don't eat at football grounds as its all sh**e,but I have happy memories of the pies at Burnley in the 70s they were red hot and stuck like napalm as they were chucked across the Longside.

Pie gate onto its fourth page already.....hilarious.
Perhaps the reasoning is the crap in the pies will shorten your lives so stop the pies and get a few extra years of season ticket sales out of you haha

I know its good for the club, but it always amuses me how some fans cant go for a couple of hours without having any food or drink. Easy to say when you live near enough to have eaten well before you need to set off for the ground. Some of us leave home a bit earlier and then spend more than a tenner buying a couple of meal deals in the ground. Still, at least I've saved 10 quid and 2 minutes at the concession stand.

Disappointed with this. A day out at the mem is 6hrs out the house for us so I don't think I'm being unreasonable expecting a snack in that time. I can't see how grabbing a pie takes much longer than grabbing a bag of crisps for the people in the huts so I can't see how it will cut down on queuing time (except there will be fewer people spending less money now which can't be good for the club). What might help with the queues is finding a way for 2 people to make a drink and put 3 things in a meal deal bag faster...

Great diversionary tactic! No more talking about: - lack of information about the new ground - Open Day on a Monday (ie workday) - no sign of new kits yet - lack of clarity about role of Fans' Directors - no significant new signings - scoreboard on West Stand not working - PA system still crap in some areas At least we've got blue and white seats in the South Stand and a new 'porch' entrance to the Dribuild hospitality!!
