Kidderminster had an interesting menu at their ground, serving Chilli Con Carne of all things! Great idea. Easy to make and serve. Just need some rice on the go or a bread roll and thats a decent thing to have at half time.

Can't say I'll miss the pies to be honest. I used to enjoy a pie when you could eat it out of the foil tray with a fork, taking my time and savouring it. Compare that to the current state. You don't get the foil tray anymore so using a fork becomes very difficult as it just goes straight through the pie and through the paper bag as well, quite often causing us to stab ourselves in the other hand. So we pick it up with our hands and take a bite. Then we recoil from the mouthful of molten lava that comes with the first bite. We react by tensing up causing our hands to grip a little more tightly. The integrity of the soggy pie has already been destroyed by taking the first bite so that the increased grip of the hand crushes what's left. The molten lava filling then pours out all over your hands causing you to drop the entire pie on the floor. One bite, £3.20 gone and a burnt tongue. Nah, I won't miss them.

Looking around the mem on match day, this is probably a good initiative. Some of you fat Barstewards need to lose a few pounds if you are to fit into our new skin tight macron shirts If all the fatties dropped a couple of dress sizes we could easily up the capacity to 13 or 14 thousand. Thinner seats?

We need hooters type girls going around selling pies, obviously wearing as little as possible This is Rovers. We'd end up with some fat blokes with man boobs.

Are we sure Nick Higgs isn't still in charge.
Don't usually eat during the game but might turn up for the first game with a couple of pies. I certainly won't be eating them with a poxy, Dam fork, where did that stupid idea ever come from?

Haha, from the reaction on here I don't think many would mind!
Wasn't there some guy at Twerton who used to sell them around the outside of the pitch?

What makes it worse is that if you are in the seats, people start heading to the refreshments from 10 minutes before half time so you are constantly having to get up and down obscuring the view for the folks behind.

I can't see why we have people in the ground at all, we all get the result after the game and no mess or pie hut problems ! Best we stay home and eat what we want when we want.

Me neither but it all adds to the club's turnover and surely having more food/drink outlets is one of plus points of the UWE so more food & drink can be sold?

Well ive read most of the threads, but still cant work out how the pasty huts cant sell pies. It should take around 30 seconds to sell one item. Maybe they are stopping the sell of pies because for some games there's a surplus of pasties which they sell as im walking out the ground wen games finish. Ive bought a few myself. But to stop selling pies STILL seems a weird decision.

Talking about refreshments; one time years ago at Leyton Orient I was behind the goal with away seating to the right. A player during the warm up hit the ball with some power at the rovers seating area, where some poor guy was carrying a tray of drinks right in line with this rogue ball. What happened next, and you can easily guess, looked absolutely hilarious from where I was but you had to feel a sorry for the bloke and everyone else covered in hot and cold drinks!

I know its good for the club, but it always amuses me how some fans cant go for a couple of hours without having any food or drink. Some people travel 2 hours or more to a home game, others come straight from work, so being able to get something decent to eat at the ground can be a necessity. I have to admit that for me it's part of the matchday experience.
