I just read some very good news on the other forum,Rovers will have a reserve team playing scheduled games next season rather than the odd fixture against FGR or Exeter. I think this will be very good for players in the squad who aren't getting into the team and for players returning from injury to regain match fitness. Matches to be played at the Lawns.

More good work by the new owners, PT/LL deciding to scrap the reserves was a bizarre decision.

More good work by the new owners, PT/LL deciding to scrap the reserves was a bizarre decision. Wasn't that due to finance's? Seem to recall something about money. I could be completely wrong though.

This is very good news and along with increased local scouting it's gonna be just like the old days. You never know we may find another Geoff Bradford and bring him through the ranks like we used to do. Thank you BOD

Excellent news, something we've been crying out for for years, another example of this new regime taking positive steps forward.

Great news hopefully now when a player comes in for somebody injured or out of form we won't see them take three of four games to get up to fitness. The likes of Harrison, Clarke x 2 and montano have been typical of the situation we've been in where they come in to the side for a game don't play that well because they're rusty and then end up back on the bench when in actual fact if they'd been playing more regularly they are in fact good enough to push for a first team place. I think having a reserve side will increase competition for first team places and it won't be such a hard blow for previous first team regulars if they do get dropped. Tom Parkes is a decent lower league defender who I think with the right guidance will get better and if he'd been playing regular reserve football after being dropped he might well have not got so overweight and ended up with the problems he's had. He's gone now so that chapters over but I'm glad that our young players will have more opportunity to stay more match fit than Tom had and I think it's a great move to get the reserve team back again. UTG.
