We need all our guys up for it Saturday. This is a must win game. A goal for Brunty would do him the world of good! albeit, he would be happy as long as the team wins.
Start Parkes at the back with Leadbitter out wide, and, who knows our new winger as well, and we should have enough about us to do them.
I understand Mildenhall was back in training today, I hope first and foremost that means his mum is on the mend, and secondly because we need him in the team as well.
Will be there supporting the lads. Just hope we have got over that first half shocker on Tuesday. That was also a long way to go to see that.

Yeah we need a good performance but most importantly a win on Saturday to kick start our season . Its early days I know and I wasn't one of the ones who says we'd win promotion I said we'd finish around mid table but no wins in our first three games will really pile the pressure on and after what we've been through these last few years we coukd really do with something positive to build on.

It was madness to change the defence around after losing Mildy so close to ko and DC really should have kept things simple. Teams with new players don't gel if their constantly tinkered with.

If we sign a winger are we going to play him out of position in a midfield 3 or revert to 4-4-2 ?

Mildenhall told Clarke in the morning he wasn't available. ...But chopping and changing the defence was a bit bonkers.

He admitted during his Gasplayer interview that he made a mistake changing the team for Tuesday

If the winger is eligible for this weekend, we will revert to 4-4-2. Official

I don't think Trotman was bad when he was on, but Tuesday's game made me realize how good Parkes is on the floor and in the air. Trotman put in a lot of good tackle and dived in the way of a shot on one occasion, and I can't fault him defensively, but he always seemed to head it upwards and not away. Parkes heads the ball to the feet of his CM, if he can. He intercepts and looks for the pass. Without Parkes, it WAS hoofball, because we didn't have the ability to bring it down or play out from the back.
Back to Parkes for me. Trotman is a good backup, but that's all he should be if Macca, Parkes and Lockyer are available.

I would like to see Lockyer back in centre mid when we have Turley fit or when Trottman is ready. Not really sold on any of our midfielders yet.

He admitted during his Gasplayer interview that he made a mistake changing the team for Tuesday Common sense should have told him Taylor and White against those two overblown Barnet Brutes was a complete mismatch. He could of/ should of changed it earlier by either Bringing on Brunt ,or moving Monkhouse up top. Just a bit more physical presence would have made the difference. Why he changed the defence around ,god only knows.

I'm also not convinced by Monkhouse, Mansell nor Sinclair(apart from attitude) yet, but Lockyer spent half a season in midfield last year and wasn't good enough. He doesn't have the ball control and short passing game yet. He's best at centre-back at this stage in his career and playing in a back three will help his game.

Balls to feet ? Don't mak e me laugh, whenever have we played balls to feet? Maybe on th e t raining ground, but at the end of the day we have not got the players to play a passing game ,and when we try, it goes out the window and we revert back to the same old pattern. It doesn't work anyway, not in this league and especially without a creative midfield. You need a big strong center forward who will go to war for you. Hopefully the penny will drop and DC will be forced into making the signing he should have made in pre season.
