f**k me the Football League are excelling themselves in incompetence this season. Only 3 competitions and they have turned 2 into a farce. 2 out of 3 ain't bad. I'm sure they'll mess up the 3rd one soon enough.

The magic of the cup seems to be dying though after round two now so I'm sure the FA will balls it up soon.

What a crazy format. And how are city going to feel tomorrow night cheering on their biggest and fiercest rivals to beat us so they can go to Chelsea?! It's a dilemma! The teds are going to be genuinely wanting their main rivals to win. Wow. That's like Man U fans hoping Liverpool win or Rangers cheering on Celtic.

thought the league cup had been seeded for the past frw years anyway.
But putting on a game on TV on the Thursday has just highlighted the stupidity of doing the draw before all the ties were completed given tge straight ko format

What a confusing cup draw....what is happening to our football here in England. If we win tonight we go to Chelsea, but if we lose City go to Chelsea...talk about madness!!! Sack the English Football League!!!!!

The highest ranked teams have been seeded in this competition for years
It's the fact the that higher seeded teams have been knocked out and we are playing after the draw that creates this 'problem'

I've never know a draw before where two ties are completely changed depending on a result from one game, i guess ironic it involved both Bristol clubs to add to the confusion/farce.

The magic of the fa cup died many years ago for 2 reasons. Firstly they let Man U withdraw from the cup to play in a world club championship many years ago. When was the last time you heard the expression "road to Wembley". You don't because the fa allowed semi finals to be played there as well. In this comp (efl cup) I think if they want to make it seeded then the un seeded teams should have home advantage. Makes it a bit fairer.

Should be ok though, IF we get through we could get allocated the whole Shed End as its a cup game.

Just expected a better turn out for the boys as 1st competitive home game after promotion, renewed 'derby' and trolls return, but as already said all ticket and sky kill off numbers

Usually it's about 5k for the first round of the LC, so that's not surprising at all given all ticket and TV. Still thought it would even out given Cardiff is quite an attractive tie.
I'm sure Sunday's crowd will make up for it.

This is what happens in the German Cup (they only have one). The higher placed teams always play away.

The last four home FLC1 games have attracted a crowd of:-
2015/16 - 5,650 - Birmingham 2013/14 - 4,875 - Watford 2011/12 - 4,432 - Watford 2009/10 - 3,644 - Aldershot
So 5k for an all ticket game on Sky is a pretty good crowd.

Yeah, it's a perfectly reasonable crowd. If tickets were available easier last night, you could probably add 500-1000 on top too.
