They will have to come out with a concrete alternative, just saying uwe is off and we are looking at other sites isn't enough. it'll definitely be concrete.... with some wood and steel thrown in

Perhaps there was no contract officially in place but you sense some kind of deal must have been agreed in principle with the UWE, but if it was a poor deal perhaps NH did us a good turn by not putting pen to paper on a contract. Wael's team did not do as thorough a "due diligence on UWE" as the other consortium regarding what had already been agreed with UWE and SH admitted at the BRFC AGM that "things came to light" after signing the deal to buy BRFC.
There was no signed Contract between BRFC and UWE under NH stewardship.
It is impossible to complete "Due Diligence" if there isn't any contract in place. You cannot complete a thorough DD on a verbal agreement. You can make assumptions regarding the verbal agreement, but you then have to factor in any additional costs, but as always, they are just assumptions so the costs can be variable. I speak as someone who has completed DD on some major international deals that can be measured in the hundreds of millions of dollars in value. As for the 'other consortium'......for chrissakes, give it a rest, or at least post about them in the New Beginnings thread.

Exactly it's not like there was a watertight Sainsbury's contract for the Al-Qadi's to trawl through.
The UWE 'Deal' appears to be all Masonic handshakes and even Watola was trying to flog/lease the unallocated space in it to UWE on top of everything else.
Wael is an investment banker. he is going to want the best deal for the club/ his investment one that will maximise income. I am sure that was the intention of NH at the outset as well, but I think we were readying to sell all the silver to leave a 'legacy'

I don't doubt there was/is a consortium, but are there any reasons why their identity cannot be revealed now?

I don't doubt there was/is a consortium, but are there any reasons why their identity cannot be revealed now? They never existed. You do not complete Due Diligence until you have won a bid/contract. No company will allow someone else access to every single financial detail and contract until that winning bidder has been identified. You normally bid for a company/contract based on an overview of that company. The bid will then have caveats built-in that may result in the bid price changing based on what is discovered during Due Diligence.

I will ask Wael tonight as he is training with the Fans team tonight ! For clarity my post never said anything was imminent I do not lay any claim to be ITK, but as a gashead of 50 plus years I am as keen for us to achieve our new stadium as you all are. As a goodwill gesture I thought I would share what was said by someone who absolutely would know the situation to someone who would not lie to me. Knowing the context of their conversation I can’t believe this was an off the cuff remark. The only doubt I have over the comment is the interpretation of “very close”, that clearly means different timescales to all of us and I like you have no idea what very close means to this individual. That said I am very interested to hear what Wael said to Parrot last night, I’m guessing he might say “leave it to the professionals” ??

Perhaps it is because there never was one, the fact that only Gasincider & Severncider still mention must it tells its only story, somebody has convinced them it existed but there's not a grain of evidence there was ever another consortium.

"The only doubt I have over the comment is the interpretation of “very close”
Yep, I agree with you regarding the interpretation. For example, I was once 'very close' to screwing Shania Twain. I was once in a lift with her and her sister in Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. It was only her minders pinning me to the lift wall with my feet off the ground, that stopped us 'sharing a moment' in that lift. Ye gods, but I was close.
*PS - Some of the above story is false. Some of it is true *

I guess "very close" could also mean terms of an agreement rather than a timescale. If I recall, you had an insight into a training ground plan. Have you heard anything further on this and could they be interdependent? I would guess that any announcement on infrastructure would come at a time of Wael's choosing to maximise PR.
