Hope we get a sub 1000 crowd for this abomination of a match. For me there is a far bigger picture than "supporting the gas whatever", and that is the future of English football as we know it.
The Premier League is trying to wield its influence over the football league and make it almost a feeder league for their benefit. There is no benefit that I can see from allowing them into our cup competitions or creating League 3 with Under 23 teams.
They can F**k right off as far as I'm concerned. I will not attend this sh!tfest and I hope others do the same. A clear message needs to be sent to these money men that football is about sporting passion that cannot be bought.

Fully agree.
Although apparently we've sold just under 500 tickets in advance, so unfortunately I can see the attendance being over 1,000 with pay on the days.
I'd be quite happy for an attendance of 0 tomorrow night and won't be going near any of our games in the competition.

I would have boycotted it but my mate is over from Australia and he is a bloody gas fanatic and will go to every game possible when he is here until the end of September so I will be going with him tomorrow night but I do agree it is a water take so I won't be going again unless we get to the final of course !!

Any true Gas fanatic would not attend tomorrow's game in my eyes. No excuses. Anyone who does attend is betraying the English game we know and love. The future of the lower leagues is at stake and a very clear statement needs to be made to the powers that be. The introduction of this trial is a complete disgrace and the competition deserves to be treated with utter contempt.

Quite simple as far as I am concerned. A cup competition for lower league clubs ruined by the football big boy bullies barging in uninvited by not only gasheads but the lower league football family in general. No attendance from me tonight.

That game died a death years ago and this competition is just another side track to its demise I'm afraid. I think most people can see where all this is leading but each to their own. The more money SKY throw at the Premier League the worse it's getting but why these Prem sides don't resurrect the old Central League and type I don't know. It's not that they haven't got many millions to waste.

That's a very dangerous Statement to make.... i've been a gashead for 50 years, but because i'm may attend tonight that makes me not a gashead..... You sir need to grow a pair and not make statements like that unless of course you are a troll

What a load of absolute bulls--t. People trying to dictate who attends and who doesn't attend. Gosh that sounds just like the FA or Premier League or whoever make these decisions. If you honestly feel that a poor attendance is going to even make the FA reconsider any future junk they throw at us you are highly mistaken but never mind all enjoy your night off..at least it will make parking easier for us who will SUPPORT our club.

Don't patronise me Steve. I merely offered an opinion on how I feel about these games. I support our club week in, week out and just because I'm choosing to boycott a certain match doesn't make me a non supporter as you imply. Get off your high horse!

I do not miss home games, but tonight I am making an exception! I do not agree with the change of format and also believe it's the precursor to Premier league "B" side being introduced to the lower leagues, and we as supporters need to make the powers at the EFL see what a momentous error they have made.
However if you choose to attend then I hope you see a Gas win and a descent performance.
UTG!

Fans are entitled to do as they wish but I won't be supporting this ridiculous charade of a tournament, imagine getting a career threatening injury in this excuse for a cup game.

If people going tonight are happy with:
- The motivations for changing the format of this tournament - The farcical way these changes have been implemented and the way FL clubs have been lied to - The implications in 2018-19 of a successful tournament (which would likely include an effective relegation for BRFC in 2 seasons time) - The further future implications of watching B teams on a Saturday afternoon
Then fair enough. For once though I think its time fans stuck up for their clubs long term, its a small sacrifice.

This seems to be as divisive as the EU Referendum! The reason this got voted through mainly by the "smaller" clubs, is purely and simply because the big boys put £1m into the prize fund. That sort of money means a lot to teams like Accrington Stanley, less to Rovers, Portsmouth etc. Personally, I think the whole thing stinks, but I don't think boycotting this game (which I can't attend anyway) will make any difference to the outcome, as money is more important than principles in the football world unfortunately.
I will attend the Yeovil game and any other games if we get past the group stage and would probably have gone tonight if I was in Bristol today.
There is no need for the name-calling on this thread though - neither opinion is the only valid one as surely it is up to each individual to decide whether or not to boycott the game and any future games in the competition this season.

I'll be disappointed if anyone turns up to this game and any other game involving B teams. I'm dissapointed our team is turning up. We should have opted out when a lot of the original B teams started dropping out. Man U were allowed to disregard the fa cup for a holiday in Brazil many years ago.

Sort of contradictory though. Not every club will reach the final, and say a <50% of average JPT crowd turnout (so under 1500 for us, hopefully its much less) would send a financial warning to all clubs.
