I think he's been awful so far this season - head not in the game. Will he be scoring a hat-trick per game when he's back to form (he always starts slow).

It would depend on where we are in the league, near the top or near the bottom and then no chance. He would be needed and would have to wait until the close season. If we are comfortably mid table with others chipping in with goals then maybe.
Business slow today Henbury?

To be honest not concerned about that at present, plenty more important things to sort before then.

If the player wants to go that's the end of the matter. Why would you keep him if he wants out? Loyalty doesn't come into it. SH recently said DC was very close to leaving us. It wasn't loyalty that kept him here it was money. It's a shame but that's how it is. And you can't blame DC or MT for that.

It will depend if there is a clause in his contract whereby if the club get an offer over a certain figure they have to tell him and allow him to talk if he wishes. I heard the clause is set at £15million.

I heard the clause is set at £15million. Not relevant. If he wants to go that's it. Remember when we were bombing this league years back, then Roberts and Cureton decided they wanted out. We had promotion tied up then lost 5 of the last 6 ( from memory) culminating with a loss at Cardiff, when I believe a draw would at least have got us in the playoffs. Ollie was manager I think. Again from memory I think the only game we won towards the end was against the 82ers. Sadly, if a player wants out what is the point of keeping him. You could effectively be playing with 10 men, or in Ollies case 9.

Good point well made however we are a different club now we have an ambitious professional owner in WAQ and we actually have a future If Matty wants out in the next window (which I doubt) there will be other players wanting to sign for us so we just have to wait and see what happens UTG!!

Never found out what happened. Anyone remember?

I'm gonna be controversial now but at the time I said to my mates Ollie was told not to go for it because of the finances that's why he left the club he loves

Don't think we ever really recovered from that failure, even the Lambert years just looked a short term blip looking back. Let's hope Wael can finally banish that era. As far as MT is he goes we now make £m's so not the big worry it was in the summer.

We won't sell our best players. Those days are over. If the club receives an acceptable offer or contract clauses are met and the player wants to leave then the best players will be sold.

Although whether it was that or Roberts & Cureton wanting out is hard to know.
