So rovers have announced that the club made a loss in the game against reading which isn't a surprise so they have decided to shut the dribuild stand and terrace for the yeovil game

I might go to this one, if the reading game lost money then a point has been made, but I'll go to this as a supporter of the club, not the competition in hope that they can at least break even....

This shouldn't be boycotted. It's not an U23 game. Hope our attendance goes back to the average for this competition in previous years.

Unfortunately I will be in Chester for the week so will miss this. I too hope we get a decent crowd as it's not good to see the club lose money.

If the club lose money, then them and the other clubs will be stronger about accepting such nonsense in future.

Better to lose a few quid in the short term than see the football league go down the road the premier league wants it to .

The attendance for Reading was 1400? So if the plan is to shut a couple of stands in order to avoid making a loss against Yeovil..that suggests we can at least break even with a 1400 crowd.
Profits must be awesome when 9k turn up!

On an issue decided by a majority vote, what choice did they have? You can't just accept the decisions you like, that would lead to chaos.

For some reason this has tempted me to go. I've always wondered what the view would be like from the Thatchers end but would never move from my usual place in the Dribuild normally.

Even more of a reason to boycott. Club has put in place plans to not lose the money. Another low crowd helps the against arguement.

This competition has never got going until the semi stage anyway. But it's completely lost all appeal now. I have no interest at all.👎

Genuinely, what should the club have done then to not accept the competition? Bonus points for suggesting something that wouldn't lumber the club with a fine/incur matchday losses/get us thrown out the league.

Bonus points for suggesting something that wouldn't lumber the club with a fine/incur matchday losses. Once the vote is made the club have to abide by the decision...if they wish to remain a member of the football league. What they should do is only have the west stand and south stand open ,it will give places for nearly 2000 people. If need be they could open the family enclosure to handle any stragglers. This ensures the club doesn't lose money but makes them continue the protest with the EFL. The whole competition needs to be seen as less appealing with u23 teams included. This will put sponsors off or they may apply pressure on the EFL. Just boycotting the u23 games just means clubs will have to bite the bullet for one game initially...the EFL will be happy with that if the u23's get their game time. People will make up their own mind.

Still won't be going. The Football League will be using average attendances if it makes the competition look better, so I shan't be giving them the chance to count my attendance.

The fact that the Reading game was the first time we made a loss at the Mem, puts that w**ker Swindler's decision to charge full price for the rearranged game into even further perspective. I bet he could have charged £5 a head for that game and still made a tidy profit after paying the police fees.
