Every time I take a look at Boreham Woods line up Lucas is on the bench. Everything looked promising with Jamie a year or two ago, but if he cannot get in the team in his second season on loan there, is there really much chance of him progressing to league one level? Strikers who can't score in the FL still seem to be able to bang them in in the Conference. Akinde being one example, and I think Grazioli was another

He wasn't even on the bench for a couple of games recently. I wonder if he was injured?
Interesting tonight with Boreham playing Braintree, we have Balanta and possibly Lucas vs Puddy

i think 2 promotions has made it very much harder for young players at the club as the bar has been raised so much. if lucas dosnt start and score goals at boreham wood this season i dont see he will have a future here.

You cant write Lucas off just yet; Oliver McBurnie hardly got a look-in with us in L2 last season, this season he has already faced the English champions in a top flight league game, and scored 2 in one game against a L1 side in the cup.

Jamie has been laid up for almost a month now and only recently started to train again. I imagine he's a way off the pace fitness wise to be getting a start
It's got to be almost impossible to get in the Rovers team right now so he needs to be putting in some good performances and banging in some goals at Conference level to give DC a reason to offer him a new contract at the end of the season. Good luck to him

Jamie will have to do well this season or he will be replaced by some of the Jordanian imports from the all new academy next season.......

This is why I feel we should only try loaning players to L2 sides.
I know we were there in that league recently but have moved on a lot since, scoring goals against part timers will prove very little other than he is competent at that level. Whether that will be enough for DC to try him who knows, but he is way down the pecking order and I cant see him getting a chance, along with Broom.

He probably would have preferred to be playing in L2 but the new loan rules this year meant something had to happen before the end of August and it didn't. On the plus side for Jamie, Boreham Wood rate him highly and he should get a lot of game time when he's fit
If we do have a forward injury crisis and Jamie gets called upon, it's in his favour to have had a few weeks or months playing regularly rather than being stuck in the reserves not doing a lot
