That was the chant a few seasons ago , now we have our rovers back and going on the performances this season we are here to stay , being in the play offs at this stage about a quarter of the way through the season is nothing to crow about but its better than being in the bottom few. If we can , could we , will we be there at the end of the season who knows but it will not be from lack of trying from the boys.
With the current management and squad and the just don't give up attitude backed by hoards of gas up and down the country I certainly feel we have our rovers back

I'm not sure why it's taken many so long to feel this way....
it was apparent that we had at last a decent group of committed players and a well driven manager around Christmas during conference season....
obviously nobody predicted what's happened back then, but in retrospect I can say that I'm not surprised....

I've supported Rovers since 1980, and I can honestly say this is the best squad I've ever seen👌UTG

Am I the only one who never thought I had lost my Rovers ? It's just swings and roundabouts, some periods of time we are sh**e and some we are better, we are great at the moment but even in the bad times it was ok. I just like Rovers, good or bad, who ever owns them, it makes no difference.

We certainly do have our Rovers back. For now!
Don't wish to be negative but this wont last forever. A few losses in a row and it changes the whole feeling. You only had to hear the groans at MK Dons in the first half to know we are never far away from those feelings..
Sad considering the success we've had but true.
Cautiously optimistic for the future though. Enjoying it while I can.

Must admit I thought this would be a holding season (might still be) but the late loan signings have given us quality that we've never had before imo and anything seems possible with this squad right now.Got our Rovers back alright and some!

Agree. I think that Gateshead match was very important but I think it started far earlier. At Eastleigh at the end of September we were 1-0 down, down to 10 men, 9 by the end, Mildenhall sent off. After Ollie Cs great equaliser we never looked like losing it. SS coverered every blade of that pitch that evening, Neil Trotman was massive as were all the players on the pitch, including Ellis. We moved up to 5th that night and as I drove home I knew we would be in the play offs at least and could be even better. Here was a group of players determined to right a wrong. Like you gregsgas, nothing this group achieve will ever surprise me. UTG!

A slightly tongue in cheek question, but if Rovers are one day successful, in a shiney new stadium, with a training facility to match and the club is professionally run from top to bottom, will it still really be Bristol Rovers?

The Rovers we have now is totally unrecognisable from any in my Rovers supporting lifetime. On the pitch there have been comparable times eg. Promotion season squads from 73/4 -2014 but off the pitch a totally different ball game altogether. Times do change and for a change Rovers have everything in place to move forward and not tread water and survive. For this reason I think we not only have our Rovers back but a much bigger and better well run Rovers from top to bottom. Great times again.

No it shuns it's elite unique status......it's just a squad member and trains at least 6 to 8 times a day to keep itself on the boil ready to come on and change the game when called upon........UTG

The loan players are giving us a welcome leg up, so what happens when they return to their respective Clubs? It would be very useful to either continue the loans for next season or tap up Chelsea and co. for replacements. Without them we would struggle a bit especially if get were to get promoted. Never had to be concerned in this manner before - the times they are a changing.

Optimism not a familiar emotion for many years but look at this sneak preview of what we're having if planning permission goes through.

They are here till the end of the season and can help us get promoted, hopefully we can sign boetang in jan. Wouldn't be surprised if chelsea let us have them next season as well if we are in the championship. By the summer hopefully uwe will be underway and wael will release the purse strings for us to compete in the championship.
