I'm not sure why it's taken many so long to feel this way.... it was apparent that we had at last a decent group of committed players and a well driven manager around Christmas during conference season.... obviously nobody predicted what's happened back then, but in retrospect I can say that I'm not surprised.... Agree. I think that Gateshead match was very important but I think it started far earlier. At Eastleigh at the end of September we were 1-0 down, down to 10 men, 9 by the end, Mildenhall sent off. After Ollie Cs great equaliser we never looked like losing it. SS coverered every blade of that pitch that evening, Neil Trotman was massive as were all the players on the pitch, including Ellis. We moved up to 5th that night and as I drove home I knew we would be in the play offs at least and could be even better. Here was a group of players determined to right a wrong. Like you gregsgas, nothing this group achieve will ever surprise me. UTG! Funnily enough before that Eastliegh away game we were in the pub and said we would take going back there in the play offs..

I find the whole "we got/want out Rovers back" all a bit cringey.
At the end of the day we have a bloody good SQUAD of players who are taking us places, with a superb ambitious manager with an owner who matches DC's ambition.

Don't need to worry about that till the summer. They are here till the end of the season and can help us get promoted, hopefully we can sign boetang in jan. Wouldn't be surprised if chelsea let us have them next season as well if we are in the championship. By the summer hopefully uwe will be underway and wael will release the purse strings for us to compete in the championship. Keep up man,Wael is potless. Sheeds said. It must be true if they said it, everyone knows sheeds are the club everyone looks up to and only time before they are competing with Bayern and Barca, Wael doesnt have a pot to water in.

Am I the only one who never thought I had lost my Rovers ? It's just swings and roundabouts, some periods of time we are sh**e and some we are better, we are great at the moment but even in the bad times it was ok. I just like Rovers, good or bad, who ever owns them, it makes no difference. i think the op was referring to several years where we were actually one of the poorest teams in the league and which culminated in being relegated into the conference, before that rovers teams were always in the 3rd and sometimes 2nd tier,so i think "getting our rovers back" means league 1 and fighting hard to win.

I've supported Rovers since 1980, and I can honestly say this is the best squad I've ever seen👌UTG Not sure about the best squad, the nearly seasons squad IMO was better, but this certainly is the most committed squad I've seen.

Ive followed the gas for over 50 years and I have always said we are a good third division team (League 1 for the yung uns) and and an average 2nd division team (Championship for the yung uns) and where we are now is a good place and we can build on this that's why we have our rovers back UTG

Let's not get carried away, chaps. 36% of the starting eleven at Oldham were borrowed players, and two of those borrowed players scored the goals. Until we own those sort of quality players we won't have the real Rovers back. Call me a troglodyte, kill-joy, or any other erudite insults that seem to appear on this forum, but that's how I see it. Something borrowed, something blue!!

I just like Rovers, good or bad, who ever owns them, it makes no difference. Even in my time supporting Rovers I felt like I'd lost my club, especially through the Buckle/McGhee era with the mercenarie type players wearing a shirt they couldn't give two sh*ts about. Seeing us rise from the ashes of the conference under DC and a new squad will always be my favourite season. The passion from both the fans and players was incredible.
