As the game started a procession of people with bleeding heads etc. walked down the touchline. At the end something akin to a humanoid gorilla was trying to rip down the fence separating us. My car had several light lenses smashed. My son went much more recently & it ain't a lot better. Not worth it at my age.

I didn't bother with Chelsea, I will make a decision about Millwall on the day but if I don't go it won't have anything to do with what went on in the 70's.

The world has moved on since the 1970s. People have become much more tolerant and accepting of others. I`ve just booked a fortnight`s holiday in Mosul, and I`m looking forward to it immensely.

I went to see Milwall v Rovers at Eastville in 1970s and was in the family section of the Muller Road end with my Dad and Brother. Getting a drink and a sausage roll at half time was the most terrifying experience I've had at any football match, as a few of the Millwall fans were threatening everyone with scalpel blades. That's pretty intense when you're only 7 years old.

If Millwall fans can still turn Wembley into a battle ground they'll fight anywhere, to say things have moved on since the 70's is, like the FA, fans just burying their heads in the sand. Ironic though that the person saying fans should go hasn't even decided if they are going themselves yet!

Millwall last time (2009?) was completely uneventful, so based on that I can't see much to worry about at all. Using anecdotes from the 70s as a reason for not going is just as stupid as not going to Stamford Bridge this year would have been. Re: Wembley, every club has its minority of idiots, Millwall as a club have done loads to try and reduce hooliganism.

Ive been there four times, and the last time I saw trouble was at the Old Den. Nothing since.

If you go to millwall and act like a genuine fan I.e sociable drink cheer the boys on and act sensible you will be fine. Go there giving it the big one and asking for trouble then you will find it

Used the supporters club coaches twice to watch the gas at Millwall & have had no problems, even had a nice sight seeing tour of London the last time as the coaches made there way back to the M4 via the road that runs along the Thames. I know the supporters club travel is not everyone's cup of tea , but definitely worth considering.

We'd normally take 1,000 plus easily to a game in London when doing this well... Took over 1,000 to orient when mid table league two last season but because it's millwall it'll put a few people off. Surprised if 750 plus don't make the trip though
