Gaffney is never going to be a goal scorer but he contributes a hell of a lot, he was creating and causing boro problems all game and should of never been substituted. He got so much more to his game than just goals.

Roo's is by far the best "loan" keeper we have had recently. He will be here next season Think that was Tom L worst game of the season, well covered by our Chelski lad Taylor was just awful Harrison should never play for the club again. Watched him warming up pre match and half time and his body language said it all... showed no interest at all Are you trying to wind somebody up, Henbury? All four sentences are lamentably wide of the mark.

Re CB - if TL/PH is the best pairing, what do we do with JCS? Chelsea didn't let him come here to warm the bench or watch from the stands. And he does score goals - probably has a goals per minutes virtually as good as PH.

Roos has cost us now more points than he has saved. Unless some real solidity is shown we must buy an experienced keeper. I just don't trust either mildy, Puddy or Roos. I have seen on the whole, better keepers than ours with opponents this season. How he gets the same score as Easter...my analysis would be a 3 out of 10, given 5 is halfway. Other than the pen, didn't see that much from Dan. Gaffney was my MOM, nobody looked as up for it as him. Although I hate to say it, Tom was at fault for that last goal. He was skinned over 5 yards. He needs a rest. New keeper and anther CB (if we aren't playing MMC?) Nothing wrong with the performance but individual errors in key positions cost us and we just cannot do that if we want to play in the championship one day. The counter to this is let the players learn at this level. Perhaps Lockyers and Roos mistakes are setting them up for more success. Who knows? All that can be said is we are not, in my opinion, going to dominate this league if we make mistakes like these. Gaffney? Passed when he could have shot , lost it when he could have passed it. The Mom award should be given after the game has ended

Bottom line is this Their goalie saved everything & looked like a Lge 1 goalie. our goalie cost us a point or 3. This is Lge 1, not the Conference. Is easy to pussy foot around the issue but it's been a problem since Philips was deemed not good enough by the dream team of Trolls & LL. So you think Phillips should still be playing? He's older than Mildy and he's getting on a bit

Tom has not been great this season to say the least, he has played a lot of games in a short space of time for a young lad.
I'm not one to want to change defences around too much but why not see how JCS and Hartley perform together, after all we have pretty much seen every combination of player throughout the team so far.
It seems some players can get MOTM one game then be sat in the stands the next. I'm all competition for places but how can players fight for places when they may not play the next game regardless. Maybe there is a bit of complacency creeping into Toms game?

"It seems some players can get MOTM one game then be sat in the stands the next" You'd have to look who chooses the MOTM and who chooses the team!

By MOTM I meant the general consensus on here rather than the 'official' MOTM.
Maybe I'm wrong and the players take it, but id be pretty watered off if I played well and was dropped for the following game. I don't believe you can change the team so much as DC has each time (this season) and be successful over the full season. If that worked then everyone with a big squad would do it?

The thing I will say totally in DC's favour is his policy is controversial but it can't be luck because it has worked so well and so often (thankfully) I like you LastMinuteWinners would be totally watered off if I played well and was not selected next game. Perhaps it is down to how DC signs players with the right attitude to take his style.

DC seems to be changing the starting XI a lot this season, I cant recall him doing it this much before, but then maybe we didn't have so many good players previously so the line-up picked itself?
Hopefully like you say DC may have been straight with them when they signed on, but having managed on a much lower scale myself I know players don't like being left out at the best of times, and cant imagine what its like if they had played well the previous game and still got dropped
You cant argue with results as that's what its all about, but i'm wary of it continuing over the whole season if continued.

From the Player Ratings spreadsheet: Only one player has been MotM and then not started the next game. This was Easter against Southend but he'd come off the bench in the previous game anyway. Three times a player has been runner-up for MotM and been dropped. Twice this was Hartley and once JCS. On all three occasions they were replaced by the other one because of a midweek match. On ten occasions a player has rated 7 or above (my usual criteria for a good game) and been dropped. This has happened twice to James Clarke, Hartley and Boateng and once to Easter, McChrystal, Montano and Clarke-Salter. As far as I can recall this has been for formation change four times, Hartley not playing midweek three times, another player returning from injury or suspension twice and for an injury once.
