Bristol Rovers' injured goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall is set for a further four months out as he needs surgery on his knee, says manager Darrell Clarke. The 38-year-old has not played since August's EFL Cup tie at Chelsea. "He's seen a specialist. It's not good news," Clarke told BBC Radio Bristol. "I feel for him. We've been trying to manage it over the past few weeks but it's been getting gradually worse. It looks like he'll to need an operation and be out for about four months." www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37848420Be surprised to see him play again, to be honest.

Maybe the end of the line for Mildy then. The bloke is a club legend in my opinion. Wouldn't write him off just yet though!

Just saw this myself. Hope it's not too serious and a prompt op and good rehab will see him playing again asap - although whether that will be for us?
If he does leave that I hope the club finds a way for us to show our appreciation for what he has done over recent seasons.
It leaves us a bit short on the keeping front though doesn't it.

Feel sorry for him and probably the end of the line with us. Feel for sure we will now see a new arrival in the new year.

I don't get why he's been on the bench?

I don't get why he's been on the bench? Coz Puddy's been injured/on loan, and iirc you can't get an emergency loan any more unless you have zero keepers available, I guess.

Wouldn't consider him a legend, but a very good servant to the club and was a excellent signing when he first came to us. Wish him all the best whatever happens.

Sad news, probably won't be back for us but played in big part in both promotions - should be given a good farewell when he goes.
Give McC the gloves on the bench - he'll do a job!
