I know we all like a moan but...
my brother moved to Dublin 10+ years ago and had a family.
he flew over yesterday and took his youngest son to his first game. He emailed Rovers and explained the situation and asked if it might be possible for my nephew to meet his favourite player - Matty Taylor.
Rovers were absolutely brilliant and couldn't do enough for him, Keith Brookman met them early, took them on tour of ground to see directors box, he went on pitch and met all the players.
in particular Roos was fantastic but all players had time to chat and pose for photos etc
So in a time when footballers appear more remote than ever we have a club and players that genuinely appear to care, make a effort to interact with fans and are still accessible.
so point of this post is, whatever we may think of their performance on occasion, this is a special time and we must enjoy it as the club is full top people from top to bottom

Great post. Delighted to hear that the club took the time and effort to make it such a good experience. Not to mention the 3 points of course - icing on the cake!

Yes you can imagine what it is like growing up surrounded by Man United, Liverpool and Celtic fans as a 6 year old.
Rovers gesture made a little kid's year and also he is now proudly telling everyone he loves Rovers and met them all.
Not all clubs would do something like that, hence the post

Had a similar experience for my lads 9th birthday during our Conference season. We treated him to a box for the Nuneaton game on a Tuesday evening.
The staff were really helpful and just before kick off Ian Holtby wandered in for a chat. When we told him it was a birthday treat he had a quiet word and asked me to ensure we remained in the box after the final whistle. We won the game 3 - 1, Matty scored and was made man of the match. A few minutes after the final whistle Ian appeared with Matty and he made a fuss of my lad, who was obviously made up and had a grin a mile wide for the rest of the week.
A brilliant evening and my lad is now a confirmed Gashead and Taylor fan.
Great time to be following Rovers. For me it's up there with the Dodgin/Megson era, and latterly the Gerry France's years.

One of the better things about being a lower league fan, the only way some PL fans are getting anywhere near their player is if they pay through the nose for it.
