Hopefully get the win but not overworried if we don't. What surprises me is why people want MU or Liverpool etc in the third round. With the way prize money ratchets up as teams progress I prefer to play non league teams at home as long as they last and then league two teams at home as long as they last. We will have good crowds at the Mem whoever we play.
Anyone know the prize money per round? It was about £250k when we got through to WBA last time we had a good run.
Then Chelsea in the final.

Either or will do me. It's when you get the crappy prem teams that I hate it as we will still likely lose without a good day out/loads of money to show for it. Someone like Burnley.

I read somewhere yesterday if we win today we get £18,000. Not to sure about the rest of the rounds.

How do people feel about cups by the way I really can't be bothered with anything other than the FA Cup. I went to Chelsea admittedly, but that was different.
League Then FA Cup
Everything else - don't care.

You can't beat a cold January Saturday morning on the way to a big ground in the 3rd round!!! The League Cup, I'm not that bothered, win, lose or draw.

Good cup wins like Southampton remain in the memory for a long time, unfortunately, in recent years we've hardly had any decent cup wins, hence probably why most of us have lost interest in Rovers cup games.

Another tactical defeat to focus on the league.

Why is kick-off so early if it's not on TV?

Why is kick-off so early if it's not on TV? Local Plod insisted as it's the Lewes Fireworks thing today as well

Why is kick-off so early if it's not on TV? On police advice because there is a big fireworks display not far away, this evening.

In a season where there is little to play for in the league (mid table obscurity etc) then a good cup run can lift peoples interest and add some much needed money to the coffers.
In a season when the club has league promotion ambitions, I have always worried that a cup run can add to fixture congestion, and take the clubs and players' eyes from the bigger picture. In my mind, our disastrous FA Cup results of the last two seasons have us to focus absolutely on the league campaign, and look at the success that that brought us. Although it may have hurt us at the time, losing to Bath City and Chesham United did us absolutely no harm in the longer term.
At the beginning of this season, and in a moment of realism, I thought that our ambitions this year would consist of cementing a position in the top half of the League (and building for the future) and, with that in mind, I mused to myself that a good FA Cup run would certainly brighten things up.
As it seems to be turning out, the squad have really proved themselves up to the task and there is an outside possibility of a third successive promotion. With that in mind my FA Cup ambitions have been reined in. It would be nice to be involved in the first and second rounds (when league fixtures are suspended anyway) but it wouldn't worry me if we went no further than that. After all, even the truest Gashead would not pretend that we have a chance of winning the FA Cup - this year!!!.

Monty may as resign himself to the fact he's never going to start an away game, meanwhile, Harrison is probably wondering what he needs to do to get dropped!
